Chapter 1

As L sits in his strange pose, he stares emotionlessly at his laptop, tapping the letters with only his index fingers.  His  hair sticks up in all different directions. He finishes typing then addresses me, "Kiko, acording to this website there is a 32% chance that Kira is mentally insane.  Now isn't that interesting? "  he says never looking away from his laptop.  I nod then adjust my position so I am laying on my stomach. "Do you want more cake? " I ask, pointing to his empty plate. "Yes, that would be lovely.  Strawberry, please," he says in his monotone voice.  I go to the kitchen to get him another slice of cake.  When I turn around L is right behind me.  He takes his cake then crouches in the weird way he does.  He waves me over and I sit next to him cross-legged.   Someone has begun a website hailing Kira and even gone so far as to count all of his kills.  "That is a large number.   Kira must be stopped.   This cannot go on.  This madness must end!!" L says.  " Did you get all that out, because you were scaring me," I say.  "Yes.  I'm sorry for frightening you," he says.
