Chapter 24

I wake up the next morning to L pulling on the chain connecting us.  He looks at me and tells me we have to get working.  We go to where the investigation is going on and start working.  I am currently locating Teru Mikami and Kyomi Takada.  All of the Kira suspects have something to do with me.  Takada and Mikami are old friends of mine, and Light is my cousin.  His fiancee is another suspect, and I personally think that she is far too dumb to be capable of hiding the fact she is Kira.  I manage to find where Mikami works, and Takada is a news anchor/ Kira's spokeswoman, so she is well-known.  At the end if the day, L pulls me aside and we sit down.   I do NOT want to do this.  I sit, and look everywhere except at L.  "Can we just talk this out for a moment? If anything, I need to know why," he said, that heartbreaking tone slipping into his voice.  "Last time you worked on this case I thought you died.  I was an absolute mess for two years.  I just got you back, and then you went back to the case.  Do yo have any idea how scared I was?  I didn't..." I had to stop because all the crying was making it hard to talk. " I didn't want to lose you again," I said in a whisper.  He just looked at me, and held me in his arms.  I didn't want him to let go.  He didn't, he just held me while both of us cried.  I looked up at him, and whispered " Promise we will never fight ever again," in his ear.  He nodded and I leaned in to himband kissed him on the lips.  He kissed back, and things were getting very heated until a large clap of thunder made me squeak.  He  pulled away and took me somewhere.  I wondered where we were going and why there were so many stairs in our way.  He opened a door and revealed the roof.  It's pouring rain, I hate thunder and he wanted to take me outside.  Brilliant.  We stepped outside, and then a large clap of thunder made me jump into his arms.  I looked up at him and smiled.  He kissed me, and it was one of those kisses I never wanted to end.
