"Hey guys,"Spike said, while we were walking through the forest on one of our "break days","I was thinking we should have a name." "A name? For what?", questioned Leo. "For this,"Spike gestured around us. "This?", I tilted my head.
Spike sighed,"You know, this whole 'conquering the world' thing. Our team, or group, should have a name." I smiled and nodded,"Yeah you're right. But what should the name be? It's gotta be something cool! Like uh - damn I got nothing."
Leo cleared his throat,"Well what do we always call ourselves?""Freaks," Spike and I said in unison.
It clicked.
Freaks. We could be freaks.
"Should that stand for something though?", I brought up. Spike hummed,"Like an acronym?" Leo nodded,"Yes, it should stand for something." I stopped for a minute. I grabbed a stick and spelled 'FREAKS' on the forest ground.

"And the official group name could be The Order of the F.R.E.A.K.S but we could just call ourselves The F.R.E.A.K.S to make it easier," I suggested. Leo hummed,"But individually you would be called a F.R.E.A.K. It doesn't sound as awkward but still works with the acronym."
Spike raised his hands as we all high fived,"We're geniuses."
This was the Official Commemoration of the Order of the F.R.E.A.K.S.

While we were walking on a trail, Leo suddenly stopped in his tracks. We were deathly silent. Leo had amazing instincts and if he sensed something... It wouldn't end pretty, I'll say that much. There was a slight shift in the bushes to Leo's right. I saw a glint of steel and immediately dived to knock down Leo. Luckily, the added force to my weight was enough to send him to the floor. As we fell, an arrow whizzed past, just missing us.
Spike started cursing as he helped us up. Spike kept cursing as we scrambled and started running. Spike especially cursed when the arrows started meating their marks. I howled in pain as one embedded itself into my calf, I could hear their pain too.
When we reached a clearing and I could finally get a good look at them and myself, I thought...
We are screwed.
We had no idea who was targeting us and why they were targeting us. We were all hit in many places and soon we'd pass out due to blood loss. "Don't pull out the arrows!!", Leo roared. "They're keeping the blood in, if you take them out we're surely finished." Spike and I nodded. All three of us took steps backwards until we were back to back. We knew we had already lost, but we wouldn't give up until we had at least killed a few of the anonymous enemies.
I summoned my staff from its dormant state as a tattoo. That's another trick I've learned but I haven't the time to explain it. Power surged in me again, as I gripped the familiar material that made my weapon of choice. The gem inside seemed to feel the danger also, as it was matching my glowing ruby eyes, but pink. I've felt stronger than I have in a while, since Leo rarely let me use my staff. He only let me when I was practicing spells.
Leo morphed into his lion form. Even after all this time it amazes me. He was gorgeous, and absolutely huge. His head reached my shoulders and Spike's chest, his paws were twice the size of my hands with more to spare, and his muscles rippled with every move. His eyes were a brilliant, Arctic blue, and reminded me of lightning. They glowed with predatory fierceness.
Spike's left arm formed into a chainsaw, the roar of spinning metal being one of the only sounds heard. Poisoned spikes formed through the bottom of his shoes, another type of weaponry that made a part of who Spike was. His right hand molded into a handgun, it was small but it could cause some serious damage. His eyes were a shining, dandelion yellow. They seemed to burn with anticipation and the rush of adrenaline.
Before we totally kicked our enemies' asses, at least some would run away just by looking at us, because we looked like fucking gods of death and destruction. We might actually be able to get out alive.
Hopefully.
The bushes rustled and giant wolves, that rivaled Leo's height, came stalking out.
Well damn.
We really are screwed.
