"Here we go," Rick led Carl, Michonne, and I over to a small trap made out of sticks and leaves. "It's a small one." He lifted a dead rabbit from the trap.

"It'll do.." I mumbled, watching as he placed the animals in his bag, my stomach rumbling quietly.

I jumped from foot to foot by Michonne as Carl squatted next to his father, but Rick motioned for me to come down next to them. I obliged, bending down next to Carl while watching Rick explain the makeshift trap.

"So this is just a simple slip knot. Tie one on both ends, and tie one side to a branch. Okay, you see the ground here," He motioned towards the leaves and dirt, which had been dug out slightly. "It's sort of like a funnel shape."

"It's a trail?" Carl asked.

"That's right. It's where you set the noose.." Rick continued on. I nodded, pretending to be listening.

I knew how to do this already because my father taught me a month after the outbreak. I didn't know much, but I knew enough to where I could set a trap like this.

I smiled at the memories of him trying his hardest to show me how and then get me to do it, but I always would end up tying something in the wrong place and mess the whole trap up. We'd laugh because eventually, we both knew, I would figure it out. I was a fast learner anyways.

"Hey, Skye, hold your hand out." Rick said suddenly. Confused, I stuck it towards him and he grabbed it, moving it to where it was inside the trap.

"The animal will run through here until.." Rick illustrated by guiding my arm through the trap and then my hand went into the noose at the end.

"Ta-da!" The man joked and I laughed while pulling my arm out of the string that he had caught my hand in.

"Great illustration." I said humorously, narrowing my eyes at Rick. Carl laughed and I heard Michonne chuckle behind me.

Suddenly, the four of us froze when we heard a sound break through the somewhat quiet woods. A scream. A man's scream, filled with blood-chilling terror.

I reached for my axe just as Carl stood up, running around the trap towards the direction of the call for help.

"Carl stop!" I yelled as quiet as I could, standing up and running after him. Rick and Michonne followed, yelling at the boy to stop, but I was faster than both and kept up.

I sprinted through the trees and bushes, trying to stay with Carl. Tripping over logs and sticks, I struggled to keep up with the boy as I sprinted through the harsh terrain.

"Carl! Would you stop?" I finally caught up with him when he stopped, yanking his shoulder back, but laid my eyes on what Carl was scrutinizing: the man that screamed.

A man stood in the middle of a field, screaming for help as walkers roamed all around him. He held a large stick, which he swung at the dilapidated creatures in a frenzy, but not doing any progress for his survival because he was only drawing more with every noise he made. There was no way he could survive.
