Riola flicked an ear peering cautiously through the bush that hid a deer Veral crouched beside her shifting impatiently. A year has passed and the duo have become young adults, Veral has mastered his ability over fire and learned he is a mixed element of wind and fire. Riola spent time with her father learning how to act and rule over the tribe she now serves as the second in command under her father.

"Is it time?" Veral asked shuffling his large wings. He yawned and made a whining noise.
"Be quiet! You're going to scare off the prey and I've been working hard to prove I can finally hunt. Do not make any noise!" Riola hissed in reply. Veral stopped whining and sighed he flicked an ear and held still. "Now!" Riola said and leapt through the bush her tail fur getting caught. Veral hesitated and almost fell over. Riola flew through the air and landed on the deer's back Veral followed and battered the creature with his wings, he succeeded and managed to knock it down. Riola went in for the kill and struck the deer's life vein, she stepped back and the creature twitched a few times then fell still.
"Finally! Ugh, I thought my paws were going to fall off!" Veral complained. Riola rolled her eyes and batted a Veral with a paw.
"C'mon let's take this back." Riola said flicking her tail. She grabbed a leg of the deer and began pulling it slid across the ground getting caught every few feet. "Veral a little help would be nice!" She snapped through the fur in her mouth, Veral smiled and shuffled his wings again.
"No thanks I'm gonna just let you handle it." He smirked and grabbed a leg lifting up the creature with ease. Riola rolled her eyes and walked on dragging Veral along behind her.

Riola padded into camp her chest puffed out proudly. Chief looked up from the bird he was eating and smiled, his eyes sparkling with pride.
"You finally brought it down." He said standing up and walking over. Riola stood tall, Veral rolled his eyes.
"Yea she did and she won't let anyone not know about it." He grumbled. Riola growled and flung dirt at her younger cousin who hissed in return and leapt onto his sibling. They wrestled on the ground as Towler padded over.
"Yeah she sure has grown." He said sarcasm evident in his voice. Chief smiled and looked at his friend.
"Towler, you know she will be a great leader one day," he glanced at the rolling mass of fur and sighed "she just needs more time." Chief stifled a laugh and left his children to fight.

Laira padded through the forest scenting the air carefully, she had been tracking a rabbit for a good mile. When she finally found it she was met by another strange scent. She peeked through a bush to see a strange creature had caught her rabbit. Laria backed away laying her ears back. What should I do, what should I do? She thought pacing she turned suddenly as the bush shuddered and the creature stepped through.
"You lost little puppy?" It asked showing long fangs underneath a sharp muzzle. Laria looked up startled almost paralyzed as the large creature reared up and brought itself down on top of her and the world went dark.

Riola sat up quickly as night fell, she perked her ears hearing a commotion in the camp. She got up and padded out of the den. A frantic looking tribemate named Ryler ran around the camp.
"Where's my baby?! Where is she!?" She cried.
Riola leapt in front of the frightened creature who skidded to a stop. "Riola! Oh thank the stars! Please, please! You have to help me find my baby!" She cried. Chief stepped out of his den.
"Frea, Take your air patrol and seek out Laria." He called to the winged tribemate who nodded and called her group over Riola watched them fly above the camp and out of sight.
"Please, Riola you have to help me!" Ryler cried her eyes filling with tears.
"I'm sorry, I can't do anything until the patrol returns." Riola sighed, Ryler almost fell to the ground. "Please, Ryler go to sleep, if the air patrol does not return soon I will personally go out and look for your child." Riola promised. Ryler nodded and walked away, Towler ran over and helped the distressed creature to her den. Riola turned and was about to go to her den when she heard a voice.
"Riola, watch out something dangerous travels these woods. You have been warned." Riola looked around wildly.
At the edge of the camp standing where all could see, yet no one took no notice of, was the starry figure of the young child Laria
