Veral looked around from the cliff he perched on as he waited for Crai to join him, the young apprentice he took on was foolish but eager to please, Veral liked that about him.
"Can we go home my wings are tired!" Crai whined from behind Veral, who turned and gazed at his apprentice thoughtfully.
"That depends can you do the move I just taught you? Can you tell me exactly what makes for smooth flight?" Veral asked standing and turning to face his apprentice. The young tribemate whined again"No." He admitted, Crai turned and walked back down the cliff. Veral watched him leave, then he sat back down watching the sun sink behind the clouds in the distance.
"Ever wondered what's out there?" Veral jumped startled at the new voice, he turned and saw Riola standing behind him.
"How did you get here so fast?" Veral asked looking his cousin up and down. Riola had gotten control of her powers, but she cannot call upon them when she wants, she's learning how.
"I'm glad you got control of your powers, I was beginning to forget what you actually looked like." Veral commented glancing back at his cousin. Riola rolled her eyes and sat next to Veral.
"And yet you cannot seem to get control of Crai." She retorted, this time Veral rolled his eyes.
"That fur-ball isn't going to make it as a air patroller. He refuses to learn, yet tries to make up for that by doing pointless 'quests' that do nothing to benefit him." Veral sighed laying his head on his paws."Crai has always been that way." Riola smiled. "He just needs more time, and patience" She said emphasizing some words as Veral tried to interrupt.
"Fine, fine. But don't say I didn't tell you so when he fails his tests." Veral mumbled getting up and walking down the cliff, Riola got up to follow and Crai padded up.
"Veral! I mastered the maneuver you taught me!" He tipped excitedly bouncing around."In such a short time? Wow! You taught yourself a move in a day that took me weeks to master!" Veral said with mock surprise, Crai seemed to take in the mocking tone.
"Patience!" Riola snapped shoving past her cousin. "Ok Crai, show me what you can do so far." Riola said encouragingly. She followed the young tribemate to the clearing they practiced in and Crai attempted to stall himself, do a flip then roll to the side. He managed the stall part but couldn't flip fast enough. The young pup fell from the air and Riola rushed forward to grab him. "Good try, but what could you practice more?" She asked after setting Crai down.
"Erm... getting a higher altitude... stalling quicker and... wing angling?" He asked glancing past Riola to Veral, who watched curiously.
Riola nodded and nudged the tribemate away, "go try it." She said then turned and looked at Veral, she shrugged then turned to walk away. "I told you, patience!" She called back. Leaving the stunned Veral behind, Crai had never listened or attempted anything so hard before, and Riola managed to do it in a matter of a minute. Veral couldn't say anything to Riola, he had no words. Instead he watched Crai practice trying to give it helpful hints for the young tribemate who seemed to be getting it faster and faster."How did training go?" Riola asked as she shared a rabbit with Morra. Veral looked up,
"Hm? Oh it was all good." He replied, Morra looked up and smiled.
"Still having apprentice troubles?" She asked
"Not anymore." Riola answered for Veral,"Chief Riola at it again with her problem solving." Mores teased. Riola hissed unhappily,
"Don't call me that." She said with a whine. Both Veral and Morra laughed, Riola angrily growled then smiled.
"Why not? It's a cute name!" Morra challenged, receiving a shove from Riola. Veral rolled his eyes and left to go watch over Crai again as the two tribemate wrestled each other to the ground. Veral glanced back at the two and smiled then muttered something they couldn't hear "patience."
(A/N sorry for the long delay, I had my phone taken away so I thought I should write a quick chapter to help fill my absence, I should be back to updating more often, hopefully.)
