A95

I toss the body in front of Nick, who looks down "Who is that?" I take a seat on a small stool. "Don't know, he was watching us from that ridge." Nick looks him over, "Green armor, think it's him?" Sarah runs a quick scan, "Can't tell, his armor's registry is too badly damaged. 95, we should get him back to blue base, the'll treat him, and find out who he is."

I remove my helmat, "Got to be him, Amanti doesn't use this armor config." Nick picks him up and carries him to our pelican, "Let's get moving, he's in bad shape."

I get up and put my helmat on, then i hear it. Small twigs snapping under feet. I yell, "Company!" Flicking a switch on the generator, lights blare around our camp, illuminating the area around us.

Almost twenty soldiers stand with guns trained on us, Nick looks at me, "You get these guys, I'll get the bird started." I glance to the pelican, and see our captive is straped to a seat, Nick disappering into the pilot's cabin.

I pull out my rifle, but the troops still don't fire. I zoom in, and see them part formation, saluting something coming twoards me. The man, if you could call him that, steps in front of the troops. An easy eight feet tall, and as muscular as i am. It stops fifty feet from me, pulling something from it's waist, and turning back to the troopers.

It grabs one by the throat, turning on the device in it's hand. A blade almost three feet long springs to life, slicing the soldier across the chest, killing him instantly. Turning back to me, he lets out a war cry, charging with in-human speed.

I fire my rifle, but it just bounces off his armor. I throw the gun down, pulling out my knife. When he hits me, I stab the kife into it's neck. We hit the rocks behinde us, my armor locking just before impact.

Despite my knife in it's neck, the creature rips off my helmat and examins me, "You are the one called Subject A95? They told me you would be difficult to kill, I see now they were mistaken. I am Subject A82. I've been sent to kill you." He pulled back the blade, aiming it at my face.

Behinde him, i see the cargo door on the pelican opening, Nick at the entry way with a heavy MG. The troops start firing, but he mows them down easily, then sees my situation, he jumps from the pelican, sprinting our direction.

The blade is less than an inch from my face, the heat from it burning my skin. But, just as Nick reaches us, the creature slices the blade across his visor, knicking him to the ground.

I try to move, but my armor is still locked. Nick lyes motionless on the ground, red lights flashing on his armor. The creature pulls the blade back again. But, before it can move twoards me, a green soldier tackles him to the ground, the blade flying into a near bye rock.

I look to the ground, the creature is lifting the soldier off the ground already, "I'll kill you too!" Nick trys to get up, but 82 stomps him into the ground again. Looking back to the soldier in his hands, Fear blows through his eyes.

The soldier is holding a grenade, the beeping already faster than safe. The explosion throws dirt and rocks into the air. The soldier lands on a far away rock, and subject 82 into the side of the pelican.

The soldier is still on the ground, but A82 is already walking twoards me, "Maybe i was wrong, but this was fun!" He pulls my blade from his neck, more blood pouring from the hole.

My armor unlocks, i pull out my magnum, and fire several rounds at him. Most go through the tattered armor. I look around, Nick's MG is leaking CO2 gas in multiple places, my rifle is about ten feet away, the closest weapon is the only one i don't know.

Running to the rock, i pull the blade from the stone. I take stance as 82 starts to sprint the last distance. I run at him, grabing my helmat on the way. Pulling it on, i roll him over my right shoulder. He stabs the knife into my back, then lands on the ground. I turn around, the blade leading me... Right into his chest.

He gasp at first, then pulls me closer... "Two can play at this!" he raises his hand, three grenade pins on his fingers. I react as fast as possible, screaming, "Sara! Armor Lock Now!"

My sheilds draw double the power from the reactor. Gel-layer hardening till needles dot my body. All the joints immobilize as the exsplosions go off. The world explodes in dust and fire, then goes dark.

After a few minutes, my visor starts to appear. First, my health monitors, then ammo counter and armor condition. Finally, the area map and my suits moblity return.

I roll over, groaning as pain explodes from my back. Reaching around, I pull the knife away, sheathing it at my shoulder. "Sara, were's Nick?" After a breif scilence, "He's sitting up on a rock, passed out. Blue base has been notified, and are sending a warthog team to pick us up."

I get to my feet, limping over to Nick. I sit adjacent to him, leaning on my own rock, "Sara, who the hell was that guy, and how did he know where we were?"

Several pictures flash across my visor, "He was Subject A82. Looks like Amanti hasn't quit their project. How he knew where you were.... I just don't know. But, his bio-scans show  extreme signs of genetic recoding. Muscle tone excedding yours by 174%, bones almost ten times as dense, and reinforced with inlayed steel supports, and plates covering the long bones."

I lower myself to take some pressure of the freashly healed knife wound, "What happened to the ones between my generation and his?" More pictures fly across the screen, "They were placed through Amanti's task groups. Also, i checked his genetic code, it is a 78%match with yours."

I hear the warthogs about ten miles away, "And that means what?" Her holographic form appers on the screen, "They didn't trash your gene copy, just improved on it. In short, all the generations together are like a family.Just something to think on."

The first of the convoy arrives, a medical team rushing to Nick. The second team comes to me, but I send them over to look at the green soldier. The third team arrives a few seconds later, carying bags of drugs. I look at the cheif medical officer, "These drugs won't work on me. Just worry about those two." He nods and runs to tell his team.

Several minutes later, they pile us into the transports, Jason being worked on my a doctor straped to the side of the car. I start taking off my armor, needing to work on some damaged parts.

Thirty minutes later, we arrive at blue base. The sun starting to rise into the canyon. They rush Jason into the base, Nick soon behind him. I climb out of the side seat, grabing some of my armor before the medical officer rushes beside me, "We'll get this, you just get to the med-bay."

I stand back, and watch as he tries to lift the chest plate. He calls over two more medics to help him carry it into the base. After three steps, they fall, my plate falling in a swirl of dirt. I walk over and pick it up with one arm, grabbing the rest of my dis-assembled armor in the other, and walk into the base.
