Merlin kept me under the radar. I was going to attend a private school about a mile from home. Alex had moved into the apartment across the hallway. And Nick and Dylan were always just a few thoughts away.
"Hey! Its a new girl," someone shouted.
I cast my eyes on the ground and made it to my locker. So far I didn't sense any supernaturals. Thank gosh for that. I opened my locker to find a note folded up, sitting on my top shelf. I grabbed it and tucked it into my pocket.
"Hey," the guy my locker was next to said in a flirty voice.
"Hi," I replied. Thankfully there wasn't any power coming off of him.
"So you new here," he asked.
"Yeah," I slammed my locker shut.
"Need any help with your schedule," I could tell he was checking me out.
"No thank you," I said and quickly walked away.
"Have you seen the new girl? Hot," there were whispers all around the classroom. And when they saw me, they shut right up.
I saw that all of them had sat as far away from the teachers desk. So I moved to sit right in front of the teachers desk. But something stopped me. A powerful wind blasted me in the face. The teacher.
I sat down in the back row next to some guys. They all checked me out while I tried to contact Dylan.
"What is she," I whispered.
"She's a witch. Everybody hates her," the boy next to me replied quietly.
'Warlock,' Dylan sighed. 'Be careful.'
I nodded. Stay clear of her.
"Everyone. I'd like you to meet our new student," she motioned for me to stand.
"Hi everyone," I placed a perfect smile on my face. "My name is Hannah."
"Hannah what," the teacher asked.
"Rosewood," I smiled at her and sat down, praying that she wouldn't be able to see through the spell Merlin had placed on me.
She stared at me, unblinking.
"Do I need to say anything else," I asked.
"No," she shook her head. "You just look like someone I know."
I smiled and nodded. I felt everyone's eyes on me. Maybe I shouldn't have been that confident. I didn't want to spend anymore time then I had to in this classroom.
The class drug on, ever so slowly. Finally, after what felt like centuries the bell rang. I stood and walked out of the class, back to my locker.
I pulled out a notebook and my binder. Then I went to my history class. History was always my favorite. But not anymore. With the necklace, I had basically infinite knowledge. It was a waste to even go to school.
I sat in the back and spoke to the kid next to me. His name was John. I wasn't really paying attention and neither was he. Suddenly the teacher called on me.
"Hannah," he said and I looked up. "What is the answer to number two?"
"B," I answered and then went back to talking to John.
"Why don't you answer the rest of the paper," the teacher said.
"Staring with three. A, C, C, D, B, A, A, A, D, C," I paused to flip the page over. "And for the extended response. Hitler was a dictator who killed Jews because he was angry about the condition Germany was in after World War One. And for the bonus-- Poland was the first country the Nazis took."
