I stared at him.
"So you finally pulled through," I asked, walking into my home.
"You might want to wait to praise me after we see if this works," Ash followed me in.
"Ash. I told you I wanted a positive answer. Does it work or not," I growled. "Until you find out, get out of my sight."
"And if it doesn't work? Is this over then," Ash asked with clenched teeth.
"Why does our friendship matter so much," I asked. "Why are you hanging on!? You are a god! Why are you still here!"
"Because. You need me," Ash shook his head. "And I need you. Look. I have a few friends who also need you. I realized I can't really help with this job but I can help you with something else."
"Right now Ash," I sighed and rubbed my forehead. "Can I help later? Look Ash. I really do want you as a friend but my killer side is coming out. I don't want to end the damned world. But I don't get much of a choice. Alex is my only option. And until then, Ash. Please stay away. The next time I see you, Alex will be with me."
Ash nodded and began to walk out. My spell was still up so he couldn't teleport. He paused at the door.
"I expect your call soon then," Ash smiled and left.
"Rerum! Focus," I exclaimed.
"Sorry. This is just so much fun," Rerum laughed happily.
I rubbed my forehead. She'd successfully given me headache. We were trying to create a clay doll but to say the least, it wasn't going as I planned. Rerum wasn't do so great on being a artist.
"Ok. Rerum this is definitely not working. Just create the clay," I sighed. "I'll find a artist."
"Awe. Why can't I do it," she pouted.
"Rerum. I want this to look good. I want it to look like Alex," I paused and smiled at her. "You just need some more practice and practice takes time. Time I really don't have."
"I know," she muttered.
She created the clay and went to walk out into the backyard to leave.
"Wait," I yelped running after her.
"Yes," she stopped and turned around.
"Do you want to help me with the ritual once the clay is sculpted? I really could use your help," I asked. "I mean you don't have to help but it'd be greatly appreciated."
"I'd love to help," Rerum smiled. "Summon me when it's ready."
Then she disappeared and I sighed in relief. Good. At least I knew she'd help. Just as I was walking to my car, someone called my name. I whipped around.
"Hello," I called and let my powers search the place.
Mundane human. A little, younger one. He was in my back yard. I ran back to see the little boy I had shifted in front of. His face was dirty and tears streaked down his face. When he saw me, he ran into me in a hug.
"Max right," I asked.
"Yes Hannah," he looked up. "Is it ok if I call you that?"
"Fine. Why don't I take you inside," I opened the back door with my powers and lead him in. "What happened?"
"Mama and Annie were taken away. I hid real good so they didn't find me but they left this," he reached into his back pocket and handed me a folded piece of paper. "They said you'd find it."
I took the paper, anger coursing through my veins. The note read (in Latin mind you):
Anna Rosewood. Tibi satis miratus sum, in Maine. Quia ego interfeci recedendum mihi parum putasses boyfriend. Si dicere fas est, Iam satis. Humanum autem vestros mundana non facere amicos dum slit faucibus ipsum. Propono me iam obligare. At vetus hotel obvius ASAP me in agro felis. Et hoc ASAP, Rosewood.
