We had scheduled our attack to be in tomorrow, on the 27 of June. As much as it hurt, I looked into the future. Millions of bodies lay dead, most of them demons but a lot were from my team too. I couldn't tell if we had won or not.

The training had gone just fine. Team Normal was ready for battle. And although I dreaded the next thing that I needed to do, I knew I had to do it. So I sat on my bed, staring at the phone in my lap.

It was just a call. A call that might be the thin line between pain and forgiveness. I took a deep breath and picked the phone up gingerly. I then dialed him.

"Hello," his deep voice brought back painful memories.

"Ash," I whispered. "It's me, Hannah."

"So she finally calls. I've been waiting a good decade or two for this call," pain and sorrow filling his voice.

"I know. I have waited a while to finally get the courage up to call you," I smiled slightly. "I don't want to discuss this over the phone. Can you meet me at Moondust Coffee in twenty?"

"Sure thing," he said then hung up.

I took a five minute shower and pulled on something nice. I then went to find Eliza. She was chatting with a werewolf.

"Eliza? I'm heading out. I'll be back in," I paused. I really wanted to talk to Ash for a while. "An hour. Call me if anything happens?"

"Sure," amusement filled her eyes. "Got a date?"

"You wish," I exclaimed sarcastically. "Just strengthening our team."

She nodded and went back to her conversation with the werewolf. I walked outside so I could teleport myself to Maine. I teleported myself right in the middle of a group of tourists. I then pushed my way through the group and walked into the café.

Ash was sitting in a corner booth. It was secluded enough so we could talk openly to each other. The waitress smiled at me.

"Just you today," she asked.

"No," I shook my head clear of everything. "I'm meeting someone. He's already here through."

"Oh him," a smile crept onto her face. "He's hot isn't he?"

"He's my best friend. Or I hope he is still," I told her as she walked me over to his table.

"And if it isn't Hannah Rosewood. Late as usual," he rose to greet me.

"Not late. Just on time," I said.

Then he did something extraordinary. Ash pulled me into a hug. A friendly bear hug but a hug none the less. I hugged him back for a second then pulled away. No matter how rare the occasion was to get a hug from Ash, it was still a hug.

After my childhood trauma, I tended to keep distant. The only person I was really close to was Eliza but anytime she got in my personal space, I always backed up. Ash didn't mind that I pulled away so quickly.

"Want anything to drink? Eat," he asked.

"Cut the crap Ash," I told him. "We are both still pissed at each other. The sooner we admit it, the sooner we can fix it."

"Then why are you here? If you aren't over it," pain filled his voice and eyes.

"Because I want to fix it," I told him. "I want to fix it incase I don't return."

"Return from what," he exclaimed.

"Remember what I told you about Sophie Parker? The one who tried to kill me but she couldn't so she hired at the vampires to do it," I asked. He nodded so I continued. "Well. She is currently living in the Rosewood castle and has temporarily banished the spirits."
