Chapter 40. Who Is Lucy?

Wendy was breathing heavily as the walls crumbled before her. She could see her brother and the others. She guessed it was Natsu who broke down the wall.

Lucy had dirt all over her and was fixing something away. Yukino was staring at Lucy in awe and Carla rushed toward Wendy.

"Are you okay, dear!" Carla flew up to her level. Wendy laughed as she hugged her dear friend.

"Physically or emotionally?"

"When did you get all sentimental?" Natsu asked in disgust. Wendy blinked a few times before jumping back a little.

"The guy...He found out, didn't he?" Wendy whispered.

"What do you think?" Natsu asked sarcastically. 

"Rude much?" Lucy muttered as she petted Happy's head. Happy was happy and was munching on a fish.

"And, for you, Carla! I'm okay, just need to talk to some blue-headed liar!" Wendy sneered as she tried to hug Carla harder to find out if she did, would it make her better? 

"Juvia? Squeezing me won't help," Carla managed out.

"No, Juvia's cute as a peach! But, I'm going to strangle that guy when I get to him!" Wendy said all fired up.

"Jellal? I suspected as much," Natsu muttered.

"I found a way back, come on," Yukino said. Lucy clapped in joy and followed her new friend.

"When did they become such good friends?" Natsu asked Wendy.

"Jealous? And, I wasn't there, remember?" Wendy hit his head before walking forwards.

Natsu thought for a few seconds before running ahead.

"Fairy Tail has won the games!"

Makarov didn't see it coming. The moment Erza started her fight, everything was going downhill. But, as if in a miracle, everything came to their side.

"Lucy..." Levy muttered.

"Yeah, it has her name written all over her, she always has been good at making things good," Levy said in tears. Makarov laughed as Levy smiled in joy. She ran down the stairs.

"What does she mean?" Romeo asked.

"Lucy has the power of the Angels. Lucy can give people luck. I guess it's a signal they're close to coming back, all we need to do is wait and get something ready," Makarov tapped his chin.

"What do you mean?"  

"Well, it was cheating for her to do that, it was a risk, so we can give a party for their welcome, and, do something to make sure the other Kingdoms or teams get to know us," Makarov said.

"I see, well, if it means that much to you..." 

"Are you saying that you oppose?"

"No, just, I thought it was our luck, I didn't even feel the spell!" Romeo huffed. He was impressed. 

"Well, if you practice, maybe you can control it as well," Makarov laughed.

"All we need to do now is close that stupid gate!" Natsu muttered.

"Mind telling me what he's on about?" Lucy asked as she tried to get Natsu's attention.

"Well, Jellal had told us what he knew. The gate was from Natsu's family, so, it's stolen property and it's dangerous." Mira said.

"It steals magic to feed on to bring things on from the past," Natsu said as his eye twitched in anger.

"I see, no wonder Carla here is fainting," Yukino looked back on the Exceeds. Lily, yes him, was standing tall.

"What! Wendy, do something!" Natsu panicked. It was the first he actually cared since he came back into the group.

"What! Er...Lucy! Come here!" Wendy said. She yanked Lucy down onto her knees in a blink of an eye and forced her hand over all the Exceeds. 

"What should I do?" 

"Make a protection, bubble, thingy! Nothing in, but air they can breathe!" Wendy instructed.

"Laxus, what are you thinking about?" Levy asked. It was a rare event that someone would talk to him, with his name, as well!

"I'm in debt to Natsu's family and his friends..." Laxus muttered.

"Is that a bad thing?" Levy laughed. He was sitting on the floor against the wall. Levy sat down with him but tried to look like they weren't talking. She knew how much he hated people talking to him.

"No, it's just that, I don't know what he would want in return! I want to give it straight away! I want to be a good cousin, after all that happened between our family...it's messed up. He could ask for cake and I couldn't have it! Or, gold! But, I don't have any at the moment here!" 

"I get it, well, if it takes time for you to get it, we'll know you can do it! Natsu is forgiving, but, just do as he says, kinda. He could ask you to go to the end of the Heavens, and we'd know that you'd be still going," Levy laughed.

"I guess you're right, thanks, now, can you help me?" Laxus asked.

"Yeah, what about?" Levy asked. SHe was playing with her rubber bands. She flicked one at the direction to the east. 

"Ow!" Gajel howled in pain. The rubber band hit his cheek and he glared at her.

"Who is this...Lucy?"
