Chapter 18

Your Pov

It was 8 am when my alarm went off, but I had already been up for hours. I couldn't sleep, my mind was on today and I couldn't focus on anything else. I get up and get dress so I can go downstairs. As I am heading towards the medical room I can over hear Dinah's voice.

-"Lo, I promise I will do everything to protect her, but you have to promise me the same. She needs you...We all do. Love you Lauser" she says. I was going to walk in, but I decided to give her time. I walk in the kitchen and see that the whole pack was already there. I guess none of us could sleep. None of us say anything we just eat in silence. Soon everyone is downstairs and we are all sitting there, just enjoying time together.

I look out the window and notice it is snowing. I get up and head towards the medical room. I can not think of anything to say so I just sit there in silence and enjoy being near Lauren. After about an hour I get up and head towards the living room. Everyone is already there and no one says anything. Everyone hugs each other and we all understood what today meant and the love we all had for each other was understood.

Out parents get up and take everyone's mates out of the room. They look at us confused and Mani speaks up.

-"Where are we going, aren't your guys coming with us?" she asks struggling from getting from our parents grip. Soon all of them react the same way when none of us say anything, they get the message that they will be separated from us till this is over. Soon the pack is whining due to the pain they are feeling from their mates.

See the thing is I had a private conversation with the pack and our parents. They had to take our mates including Ally and Louis deep in the woods far away from us. They knew we wouldn't be able to focus being close to them. I know everyone wants to help, but we had to focus on beating these vampires and we can not do that being focused on our mates safety. The pack agreed that they would feel better if our mates were with our parents.

-"Guys I know that was hard, but we understand that we had to do that. Demi and Harry I want you guys to be on a hill looking over the site we decided to fight at, Dinah and Camz I want you guys to be on area look out, run the area and keep a look out." I say.

-"Wait, you can not go alone, they would come right after you. That is suicide man" Dinah yells. "Guys as an alpha it is a risk I am willing to take, I trust you guys to have my back. It is not up for debate either, I have made up my mind on this, please try to understand" I say, everyone nods.

Everyone gets up and walks outside, we all shift into wolf form. We all look at each other and then my pack bows at me. I stand there in shock, that is the complete sign of respect that a pack can show to an alpha. I nod my head and they all go to the places they have been told to go.

I slowly walk towards the battle site we picked, it was a field in the middle of the woods with a enough empty space for a fight. I look up once I am there and notice the sun is slowly starting to set, this battle will start soon.

Brad Pov

I was waiting for everyone to get ready for today's battle. I walked to the basement and unchained Ari the wolf. I couldn't risk her getting loose, so I left her down here till today.
She was still under my spell, I couldn't let my clan know that it was a spell. They thought I had the power of mind control and I needed that to stay that way so I can be leader. Once I am back up stairs I notice Justin looking at Ari.

-"Brad are we sure we want to fight them, I do not want to start a war with them" Justin says. "Have you forgotten they killed two of our brothers, where does your loyalty lie" I say. He shakes his head and walks outside. I look over at Ari and notice her eyes follow him, I need to keep a close eye on her.

-"Everyone lets go, Taylor I want you close to me" I say and she walks over to me and we all start walking towards the woods. I know the wolves have picked a battle site, I just hope they are ready to die.

Ari Pov

I have been chained in that basement for a while, I did not know how I ended up here till I realize I was under a spell. The spell broke when I met my mate and I still can not believe it is him. A vampire is my mate and I can not picture that going well with the pack, but he is the reason the spell broke.

Justin came down in the basement one night to bring me food and when he touched me I came too in the basement and he just smiled when he realized he was my mate. He then told me how he did not want to fight with the wolves and how he just wanted peace. We then came up with a plan and I would act as if I was still under mind control and we would turn on Brad once the fight started. He also told me that he knew Brad did not have real mind control powers and how he had thought of leaving the clan for awhile.

We start heading to the battle site and Justin looks at me and winks. I blush and go back to acting like I was under this boy's spell.
