4: Jealousy ensues and the Meeting with Akashi Seijuurou
*-*-*-*
I had already texted Kise that we would be meeting in the same spot, and entered the Science building. Phones aren't allowed to be out once you're inside the building. Unless there's a teacher's permission. Believe me, there's a lot of confiscated phones inside one of my father's desk drawers. He could reserve one of his drawers for them, and he did.
As soon as I was in the Chemistry floor, I weaved my way through the throngs of teenagers, and was about to reach room 3853 when I heard a familiar low baritone chuckling. Curious, I went closer, and saw Aomine laughing with someone. More specifically, a girl.
The girl had dirty blonde hair, fair skin and her eyes were as bright as the blue sky. I stopped on my tracks and dived behind a wall, keeping cover. I didn't mean to eavesdrop. It wasn't my intention.
Shoot, but why is my heart clenching in pain...?
"Hello," I jumped at the smooth male voice beside me, and I thankfully managed not to scream.
"K-Kuroko! Don't scare at me like that!" I heaved a sigh of relief, my hand over the middle of my chest. As soon as I felt it beating, I knew I was still alive. I then looked at his attire, and found that he was wearing light blue jeans. Bakaede, he is from the Light Blue Dorm after all.
He ignored me with that face of no emotions. Sometimes, he really scares me. "Who are you spying?" He asked monotonously, glancing over my shoulder. When he saw Aomine talking with the girl, a look of recognition passed Kuroko's face. "You're spying on Aomine-kun, the new student?"
"You know him?" I asked. He nodded.
"We just finished our class together."
"Oh.. I see. W-Well... I wasn't spying. I was simply waiting here until the conversation ended. It's rude to interrupt, you know?"
His lips formed a soft knowing smile, a smile girls will definitely fall head over heels for. Certainly me included, but somehow, I sort of considered that smile as a smile from a friend.
He then held his hand out, and me being myself, I obliviously accepted it. Pulling me up, we began walking onto the hallway where Aomine was still talking with the blonde. Oh shoot, he's dragging me over...!
"K-Kuroko!" I protested, but all of it fell to deaf ears. His hold against my wrist was firm yet gentle, indirectly showing me how he handles girls delicately. When I looked, I noticed that the girl got fairly huge knockers, maybe even bigger than mine. That made my heart swell with jealousy even more.
Kuroko pretended that he was talking with me all the while, until we reached Aomine. "See you," he waved, before disappearing into the crowd. That sneaky bastard.
I turned, and found two pairs of eyes staring right into my soul. I tensed slightly. "Ah, Aomine-kun... Ready to go?"
"You were talking to Kuroko Tetsuya?" Aomine ignored my question, instead asked me his. What was with everybody and not answering my questions?
"Yes... I was. Why?" I blinked, answering his question.
"Well then, Aomine-kun," the blonde smiled sweetly, interrupting our mini locking gaze. "I'll see you~" and with that, she walked away. Her bright orange heels caught my eyes, so she must be from the Orange Dorm. When I turned back to Aomine, I found that his gaze was still onto me.
"What?" I asked cautiously, looking down at my clothes.
"Nothing," he replied. Wordlessly, he shrugged himself off his jacket, handing it to me. Underneath, he wore a long sleeved shirt, which he just folded the sleeves up to below his elbow. He then pointed to my.. ehem. "Cover that. C'mon, let's go."
I looked down, and just noticed that the shape of my breast was slightly visible to the blouse I was currently wearing. An awkward silence settled itself on us as I slipped on the jacket. His jacket. It smelled like him, a mix of citrus and mint, and a dose of aqua. It smelled so sweet, so enticing, so... him.
"Why did you call me that?" He suddenly asked, not looking at me. I felt a pang in my heart. Why, why, why?
"Um.. Call you what?" I answered, burying my nose even deeper in his jacket.
"Aomine-kun, hmpf. Don't call me that. It disgusts me." He said, obviously distaste in his voice.
"Then what should I call you?"
"Like you usually do! Aomine!"
Thankfully, just... Thankfully, we met up with Kise just that. But needless to say the tension between us got even heavier. Lunch was ticking away, and none of us had eaten yet.
"So... Aomine-kuー Aomine, What are you having after this?"
"PE," Aomine answered tonelessly, looking around. "Kaede," he suddenly called me.
"Yeah?"
"What sports do they have here?"
"For boys, Football, Rugby, Baseball, Basketball.."
"Basketball?" His voice was suddenly piqued with interest. "Where?"
I wordlessly pointed to the Basketball Court, and when Aomine looked, it was just in time before a guy with two-toned crimson hair dunked over two other teens. Aomine's lips curved into a smirk that I've never seen before, and stood up.
"I'm gonna play that for a while," he said sauntering towards the court.
"What's wrong with him, Kaecchi..?" Kise asked glaring at the back of Aomine's head.
"I don't know," I shook my head. "Try to get along with him, can you, Kise?" I asked. When I saw the doubted look on his face, I reached over the table and enveloped his hand in mine. "Please?" I gave him my puppy face.
He sighed. "Okay, fine.." He relented. "But you owe me, ssu."
"Yay! Thanks!" I cheered, smiling. It was then when we heard whoops and cheers coming from the court, and saw Aomine dunking a score.
"Woah! Who is he?"
"He's the new student, Aomine Daiki, right?"
"How come we've never heard of him before?"
"He must've been a genius!"
Sighs of admiration came from fangirls out of the cage, as their eyes were completely stuck to Aomine's being. And by then, the fury in my heart was raging, and I quickly took my bag. "Kise, I need to go to the library."
"I'll come with yoー"
"Nah, I need to finish my project. I have a Free Period after this, so I'll just hang around the library. Get to Chem early, okay? And make sure to take care of Aomine's things!" I waved him goodbye, before making a dash towards the Girl's Bathroom.

Two handfuls of cold water splashed to my face. And another, and another. I slapped my face hard, glancing myself at the mirror. Silently thanking myself that I didn't wear make-up today, or else all would be smudged. I dug around my bag for my hand towel, and dabbed my face gently. Once I was done, I realised that it was already ten minutes into Free Period.
I walked to the library, the odd smell of papers and books entering my nostrils. The library had this strange smell that no one couldn't decipher, but yet the smell is enough for anyone to know it's the smell of the library. I set my bag onto one of the table and walked around the aisles, wondering which book should I read.
My heart had settled itself onto Psychology, since I would probably have one after this, and very soon I found myself standing in the aisle. A book wrapped delicately in clear plastic had caught my eye, and when I was about to reach it, another hand came into my line of view o reach for it as well. When I turned to look at the owner of the hand, I found my dull boring eyes staring into heterochromatic ones.
I immediately took a step back and bowed my apology. "A-Ah! I'm so sorry Akashi-san!"
"It's okay," he replied calmly, his face void of any emotion. He looked purely intimidating, though he had a kind look in his eyes. "You wanted this book, I presume?"
"It just got my attention.." I stared at the book longingly. "B-But it's okay. There's lots of other books about Psychology here."
"Very well then. I'll hand it over to you when I'm done. Is that acceptable?"
"More than it is. Thank you, Akashi-san." I bowed, before pretending to browse the other aisles. Heaving a sigh of relief, I tried to stop my shaking legs to give away and making me fall. I can't believe I just stood a meter away from Akashi. And our hands almost touched.
He is probably the most respected person here, next to the teachers and Principal. His father is an exceedingly wealthy man, and Akashi grew up to be one of the most prestigious students here. At an age of fifteen, he'd already aced at every single subject there is and earned himself a spot at the top of the White Dorm. Really, he was just that amazing. Even some of the Upperclassmen respects him.
I blinked. I then realised that I just had a conversation with one of the top students here. Short, yet casual. Brief, yet comfortable. A smile unconsciously made its way to my face, as I quickly picked up a random book in the Fiction section, settling down at a cafe inside the library and ordered a Caramel Macchiato. What can I say? A guilty pleasure indeed.
I settled myself down and was about to open my book without looking at the title. But the title got my eye, and I could feel the irony.
"How I got along with him"
Much ironies to you too, author of the book.
I was halfway through the fifty pages when my drink arrived, and after thanking the waitress, I continued reading again.

A/N: It's still approximately fifteen minutes early here but HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE READERS OF THIS BOOK! An absolute thank you to those who voted and commented, and to those who read this and reaching this book a total of 200 reads! I know it's a a small number compared to other fanfictions but little by little, it becomes a mountain, yes?
The smell of Aomine, was actually from the scent of KnB perfumes(yes they actually sell them, but I think it's only in Japan. Sadly, it's sold out except for Akashi's and Murasakibara's, but then again I don't really know cause I'm not that fluent in Japanese, so correct me if I'm wrong!) So credits to the respective companies! I OWN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
A special shoutout to fallenwhitemusk, who had been a wonderful angel and being with me from start to where I am now! I know it's just four chapters in, but I've almost finished writing this whole story. :D
CHECK OUT HER BOOK EVERYONE. PLEASE.
That's all, off I go to beta-ing my previous chapters!
Happy New Year's to all of you!
