15: Saved(again) by the Devil in Blue
*-*-*-*
"Kaecchi, you're late!" Kise hollered from the limo, half of his body already inside. He ushered me to come, to which I almost ran. Almost. I have those goddamn heels.
When I finally got to Kise, he wasted no time in pulling me in. I muttered a "sorry" to the driver and manager, who was sitting on the back seat. But they just waved me off, saying that it was okay. It was then that I realized that Yoichi was sitting in front of me, gazing at the both of us.
He was clad in an orange Polo tee and light brown jeans, plus black sneakers with white rim. He smiled at me, showing his pearly whites, and I smiled back in greeting.
Kise was clad in a brown checkered tee, beige jeans, a yellow sweater unzipped, and dark brown sneakers. He also finished the hot look with a little cowboy hat that has a yellow rim around it.
And Kise, being Kise, engaged in a pointless conversation with the both of us. Yoichi answered his questions and gave replies, but somehow I didn't. I zoned out and gave short replies, small nods here and there. Why, you ask? Because my mind is drifting back to the memory with the tanned male.
It was my first given kiss to a male other than someone related. I've never even gave Kise a kiss before out of the three and a half years of our friendship. So tanned blue male had to be quite special.
Wait.
What the heck?
"Kaecchi!" Kise shook me, and my trance was broken. Both of the guys were staring at me strangely, wary looks on their features. The air hung around us was tense.
"Uh.. Sorry, sorry. Yes, what is it?" I stuttered, looking from Yoichi to Kise.
"Spacing out? That's not like you." Yoichi leaned forward, his legs spread out and a hand resting on his knee. His other elbow on his thigh. I shrunk back into my seat, looking down. "Something on your mind?"
"Nothing! No one." I assured.
"No one?" Both of them asked simultaneously, quirking an eyebrow. By now, two curious pairs of eyes zeroed themselves onto me, making me shift uncomfortably.
"We're almost there. Kise, get ready. Kaede, same formation. Yoichi, follow Kaede." The manager informed us in an authoritative tone, interrupting both of the two men's stares. I breathed a soft sigh of relief before resting back. The manager told us how the plan would turn out. First, he would drop Kise off the main entrance, then circling around to drop us at the side. We would then be escorted to the front lines, getting his signatures first, and then we would have to wait. Well, it was usually me alone, so I'd like to go on a all-alone shopping spree. But since Yoichi's here now, I wasn't too sure yet.
"Ichi?" I looked at him, and he returned my gaze. The hallway they escorted us through was slightly dim, so I couldn't see the look in his eyes. I could see the five o'clock of his shadow, though.
"Yeah?"
"I'm going on a shopping spree after this. Are you going to wait idly for Kise, join me, or separate?"
"Uh... That's okay. I'll be at the CD Store at the third floor."
"Oh.. Okay." There was a slight disappointment in me, but I pushed it away. Why was I confused this past two months? My feelings are all mixed up, and I felt funny. But nevertheless, Yoichi and I bid our goodbyes and we separated, hopes of quickly passing by the three hours lingering in our hearts.
Two hours, thirty minutes and five shopping bags later, I was sitting alone inside a nicely air conditioned Coffee Beans with a cup of perfectly brewed Caramel Macchiato in my hands. I blew softly onto the cup, soft steam evaporating, before taking a sip. Heaven.
