7.
"God, Aiden!" I said as I pushed him away from me, "I thought you weren't into girls!" I involuntarily smiled at my retort. Sometimes Aiden is just too fun to piss off.
Aiden cursed under his breath and moved his seat a couple of inches away from me, "I'm trying to be nice here Asia."
"I-I'm sorry. I guess I'm just not in the mood today," I replied honestly.
"Why were you crying?" He asked. His eyes were filled with concern.
"It's nothing," I replied.
"No one cries over nothing A."
'Right Mr. Know-it-all.'
"Well-I uhh- was reading poetry," I answered him as I lifted the Poetry book which was in fact a Romantic Poems Collection book.
Aiden, snatched the book away and flipped through the pages, "what a lame excuse...seriously A, reading poetry?" Aiden replied and he smirked his usual smirk this time.
"Jerk," I muttered.
"I heard that," he said as he scooted closer to me, "so A, why the tears?"
I sighed and gave him a sad smile, "Aid, just drop it okay, please? I don't want to talk about it"
Aiden nodded his head in agreement but didn't say anything. Maybe this is my chance to ask him something.
"Aid, why were you dating all those girls? I mean what could you possibly gain for doing so?"
Aiden stared at me in utter shock. I bet he didn't see that one coming. "I just want to prove something to myself."
I wanted to choke Aiden right there and then. What the heck was he talking about? That was not a very good excuse for all the troubles he has caused.
"Well I hope you proved to yourself that you're a jerk."
Aiden shrugged and smiled at me, "okay let's change topic. Are you going to Patrice's party?"
Nice, Aiden, very nice, way to change the subject. Right, about that, I almost forgot about that stupid party because of all these twisted life shenanigans. "Right," I started, "I think I'm not going. 'bout you?"
He placed his fingers below his chin, as if thinking hard about it, "I'm not going because you're not going."
"I change my mind. I think I'm going," I said, crossing my arms. I was challenging him, boy would this be fun.
Aiden raised his brow and smiled, "I'll go to the party then," he replied.
I stood up, so he was looking up at me, "well see you or not see you later Mr. Walker," I said as I walked away from him.
I grabbed my phone from my jacket pocket and dialed Claude's number. He answered the call on the third ring.
"Asia where are you? Why'd you skip lunch?" He rattled on.
"Chill out bro, I was just thinking stuff over."
"So why'd you call?"
"Are you aware that Patrice's party is tonight?"
"Well yeah," my brother said, and I wonder what fun stuff he's doing right now because I could clearly hear some guys laughing in the background. "we're still going right? I mean A, the ladies are gonna be there."
I rolled my eyes, "God, you sound like Aiden. I think I'm not gonna go."
"But A!"
