What's wrong with danny?

"Maddie... Maddie... MADDIE!!!!"

"Dear goodness what Carly!?"

"Come on lets go we are going to the mall today! and my mom said the sooner we are ready the sooner we get there!"

I laughed at my cousins enthusiasm. Well,  she was practically like my sister. We were 3 years apart. She was beautiful and smart. We got along so well.

"Alright I'm coming!!!" I pulled myself out of bed and started to get ready. I put on blue jeans, a black and pink striped sweater and my black combat boots. I brushed out my wavy dark brown hair and put on some make up. I looked at the mirror to see my final appearance. You would never think me and my brother were related. He and I have different face structures,  his hair is Brown and mine is dark brown, almost black. His eyes are green and mine are blue. But we have our similarities.  We are both tall and slim.

Happy with myself I walked downstairs and got some cereal. My uncle was getting ready for some buisness trip, my aunt was watching tv with Carly and her son, Matthew, and Danny's probably still sleeping. My uncle walked over to my aunt and cousins,  gave them all a hug and a kiss. I watched this, as i always do. Always being jealous that carly had her family,  she had everything I wanted. And yet she still took it for granit.

"Maddie?"

"What? oh sorry. Just lost in thought I guess."

I didn't even realize my uncle had come next to me.

"Its fine, well I'm off for chicago." he said giving me a hug.

"Okay, be safe. love you."

" I will, I love you to."

He walked away and stopped at the bottom of the stairs.

"Danny!?" he shouted.

"what?" I heard my brother ask. He must be up.

"I'm leaving!"

"okay bye."

I rolled my eyes at dannys response.  He's been acting strange lately. Hes even pushed me away. Its scaring me to think that the one person I have left from my past is pushing me away.

I finish my cereal and put the bowl and spoon in the dishwasher.

"Are you almost ready maddie?" carly asks obviously growing limited on patience.

"I will be right back just give me a sec."

I make my way upstairs to my brothers room.

"Danny?!" I ask trying to open the door, but its locked. After a minute he opens the door but only pokes his head out.

"Why is your door locked?"

"Because for one I don't want people intruding plus you" he says poking my forehead "need to learn how to knock."

"whatever, I just came up to tell you that we are leaving for the mall. Sure you don't wanna go?"

"no" I begin to walk away but he grabs my arm and spins me around.

" I mean, I have research Im trying to work on."

"For what? we are on Christmas break you have plenty of time anyway."

"I-I cant tell you."

being done with the conversation I try to walk away but he grabs my arm again.

"What danny!?" I say irritated.

"I need to talk to you later. its really important."

"we'll see, I got to go." I walk downstairs unable to look back at my brother.
