the next morning My aunt and cousins didn't talk to me a lot, They could practically feel the tension in the room whenever my brother walked in.
"Im ready to go Aunt Lydia."
she just looked up and nodded.
I knew she was still confused as to what happened last night. And she knew it must be bad condsidering I havent talked to him at all.
Say I'm over reacting I don't care. He knows that mom is a sensitive subject for me. He didn't see the things I saw.
...He didn't see her killers.
Without saying another word I walked outside and into the front seat of the van.
I was so upset I barely said anything to my cousin when she came in my room to get me up, I was suprisingly up at 6. Very Unusual.
My aunt finally came down and started the car. It was silent almost the entire way there.
" So matthew has a basketball game later, afterwords carly has gymnastics. I'm taking your brother with us to get him... out of the house. We are also going out to dinner. if you want to go with us text me and let me know. We probably won't be back until 10ish."
"alright" I kept my gaze out the window. "are you gonna be alright on your own?"
"I will be fine."
I could feel her looking at me.
"do you want to talk about it?"
"No" My aunt has helped me out a lot. I already remind her enough of the sister she had lost. I didn't want to pile more onto her, I don't think she could handle it either.
We pulled up to the drop off at the iceskating center. And I got out. I opened the trunk and got my bag.
"text me when you get home alright?"
"Yupp." I say closing the trunk and walking away.
Before I could reach the door someone grabs my arm.
I turn around to see Cameron. I am so relieved and suprised to see him.
"hi"
"hey"
"I didn't even think you would come till later."
" I missed you to much"
Amazing how a guy I just meant could quickly change my attitude from horrible to happy.
"I feel so bad about you just sitting here for hours."
"we can skip it then.."
I am in no means a bad girl. I never skip school, never get into fights, and I have NEVER skipped a practice.
"I... I don't know."
" come on. It will be alright. he said coming closer and brushing the hair away from my face and behind my ear.
"Alright. Just let me go inside and say that I am... sick."
He followed me in and I put my ice skates on. he sat on the seats in the audience. I skated over and met all my friends and the three coaches.
"Maddie nice of you to join us." he looked at me again.
"are you alright maddie?"
"No I don't feel good. can I um, can I leave early."
He studied me and then nodded.
"just let me make a few announcments."
the coaches started going on about the future practices, competitions, orders for new outfits, etc. But then he said something that caught my interest.
