Everyone was still in shock after the events that occurred. The police decided to begin the investigation to find the treasures along with the culprit, as well as to put all the students at ease.

They started with a simple body check with everyone in the hallway.

"We will now begin checking everyone here, starting with you, the tall guy with messy dark hair. Please step forward and identify yourself, one of the cops commanded."

Without a hint of guilt in him, Xalim did as he was told, knowing he was the one they were referring. After stating his name, the police began the body check.

"Okay, you're all clear, nothing suspicious. Do not go back to your room just yet," the cop told Xalim.

Right after Xalim's turn, the police called the slightly taller brunette guy next to him, which was Sherman. Once he was cleared of suspicion, Sherman and Xalim began a discussion on the case at hand.

"It's not every day for theft to occur here in the academy, not to mention the culprit managed to steal the three most valuable treasures the school holds. Who do you suspect Sherlock?" Xalim asked Sherman.

"Well I can only think of one person as of the moment. I have a feeling it's Celia Soone." Sherman replied.

"That seems pretty practical of you, considering she's a fanatic with stuff that involves invaluable pieces of history." Xalim commented.

"Oh you poor naive being. In these kind of cases, there's always more than meets the eye." Sherman told Xalim. "Every night at 10 PM, the entire academy is closed and locked down, making it inaccessible to students. The only place we can access during that time would only be our chambers." Sherman added." Now, let's say you're the thief and you managed to open the door to the treasures. The problem is where you'll hide it. There are a few here who don't share a room with anyone, and one of them is Celia Soone, since her family could afford an entire room for her. It would be troublesome if you had a roommate who would eventually find out about your crime." Sherman further explained to Xalim.

"Woah, you thought of that much already in such a short time. Well, lesson learned, every detail counts, even the small ones. There are just some things money can't buy, even if her family owns a multinational technology company." Xalim said.

"Keep that in mind, also, I'm wondering how she bypassed the surveillance system." Sherman wondered.

"We should check the control room later, if the police don't find anything here that is." Xalim suggested.

"I believe that would be impossible," someone exclaimed.

The two wondered who it was, and turned around. They saw their tall, pale, and pretty classmate with long blonde hair.

"Oh hey Ino, we didn't know you were there." Xalim told Ino Cents.

"Well, I overheard your conversation." Ino replied

"So, what makes you say that it's impossible to get any security footage?" Sherman asked:

"It's just my hunch, but there was a blackout a while ago. So I believe the culprit used it as an opportunity to take the treasures." Ino told them.

"I see... A pretty risky move there. Who knows how long the blackout would have lasted? How did you know about the blackout though?" Sheman further questioned.

"When my alarm went off at 3:30 AM, it was dark in the hallway, which should have been bright since the lights are always on until 8:00 AM. I went out of my room and everything was pretty dark, but then the lights went back on a few seconds after I got out." Ino explained.

"That pretty much explains how you knew about the power outage. But somehow, I kind of doubt that it's her. Like, we shouldn't jump to conclusions, just yet." Xalim exclaimed.

"Fine, whatever you say. Let's just wait for the results then. But I still suspect Celia." Sherman said firmly.

A few hours have passed, and everyone is still feeling anxious, knowing there's a thief among them. Luckily, the police have just finished their investigation. Though it was unfortunately as Sherman anticipated.

The police approached a small girl with short green hair, and it was none other than Celia Soone.

Celia was shocked, and so was Xalim. They could not believe what was happening in front of them.

"No way... I can't believe it... There just has to be a mistake here. I don't think Celia would resort to something so low. What now Xalim? Do something." Xalim thought to himself.

The news spread like wildfire. It wasn't long until an announcement was heard through the loudspeaker.

"Attention please. There will be a court trial later at 4:00 PM at the Academy Courtroom for the case of Ms. Celia Soone. The prosecutor for the trial will be Ms. Solveig Dakshadia, and the defense attorney will be decided by the defendant. Attendance is a must."

"You heard that. What are you gonna do? Sherman asked a puzzled Xalim.

"I don't know, but I just can't accept this yet. There's something else we don't know. Something that we need to uncover. I'm taking this case, for the sake of what is right and just." Xalim concluded.

"Well, if that's your call, I'll support you buddy. I'll get to see how you'll turn this case around. It's been awhile since I saw you this serious." Sherman replied

As soon as the police announced that the investigation in the chamber has reached its conclusion and that everyone can go back to their rooms, Xalim and Sherman swiftly went back to Room #7 to change their clothes, and get ready to convince Celia to be his attorney, as well as perform further investigation on the case at hand.

Detention Room

The two students proceeded to the detention room. By the time they entered, they felt an extremely heavy atmosphere surrounding the room.

In the middle of the room was a table and two chairs parallel to each other, with Celia Soone seated in one of them, as she stared blankly at the table while being surrounded by the faur dull corners of the room.

Xalim sat on the vacant chair, and the dark haired lad said:

"I am here to defend you."

Those words pierced Celia's mind, as she suddenly looked up from the table, like a ray of hope has shone down on her.

She saw Xalim, looking at her with eyes of determination. Seeing someone willing to fight for her, when it felt the entire worlds was against her made her burst into tears and cried out:

"I did nothing wrong. Please help me."

Xalim stood up. Looked at her in the eyes and told her:

    "I believe you."

And so, the investigation of Xalim and Sherman has now officially begun.
