Court Room
"Now, Ms. Dakshadia, your opening statement please." The judge asked Solveig
"A murder occurred inside English Classroom III at 5:00PM, same time as now. The body was found the next day at 8:05AM inside the closet. According to the autopsy report, the victim, Ayam Deidd, died from suffocation while inside the closet. We also believe that the killer was planning on dropping a shot put on the victim to end his life, but he missed and resorted to locking him in the closet." Solveig statement.
"She knows about the shot put... Impressive." Sherman thought to himself as he grinned.
"Hm... I see... Though, was there no air coming inside the closet? The judge asked in curiosity.
"There was, but only a little. However, the victim was claustrophobic. He couldn't handle being inside tight spaces. It's also estimated that the victim died around 5:30PM – 7:30PM, according to the autopsy report." Addyson answered.
The judge was convinced and let the trial proceed. He then asked why they suspected the defendant, Tomas Stone, the average looking lad with dark hair and average height, stood on the witness stand. Everyone looked at him with fear and disgust, except Xalim and Sherman.
"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Xalim thought out loud.
"Well, obviously, everything is in Solveig's favor... For now." Sherman reminded Xalim.
"So, Tomas, you're one of the best at shot put among your colleagues in the sports club, are you not?" Solveig asked
"So they say..." Tomas answered.
"And you stayed after school and met up with the victim?" Solveig further questioned Tomas.
"Well yes, but-"
"There you have it Your Honor." Solveig said as she cut off Tomas before he could finish his statement.
"OBJECTION!!!" Xalim yelled. "The defendant did not even finish his statement. How could you easily convict him without hearing what he has to completely say?"
"Simple, whatever he says won't matter. Not only did he stay after school, he admitted to meeting the victim as well, and, he's one of the sports club's best in shot put. Need I say more?" Solveig reasoned out arrogantly.
"I'm afraid Ms. Dakshadia is right, Mr. Orthomodus. Objection overruled." The Judge said." Please continue Ms. Dakshadia.
"Gladly, Your Honor. I'd like to call my first witness for this case, Kara Taye." Solveig announce.
"KARA TAYE?!?!"Sherman and Xalim though to themselves. "Of all the people we had to skip on questioning, it had to be an important witness. Darn... We shouldn't have skipped her when we were questioning the headers of the sports club." Xalim added to his thoughts.
Not a moment too soon, a girl wearing gloves with shoulder length brown hair and a height similar to Tomas Stone stood on the witness stand.
"Witness, please state your name, respective chamber, and your position in your club." Solveig requested Kara.
"Kara Taye, Chamber of Investigation, leader of the sports club's karate team." Kara said.
"Now please tell us the events you witnessed yesterday during the afternoon." Solveig demanded.
"Alright... I was on my way back from the library. It was 4:30 PM. I knew because I was using my phone that time. Then, I heard a loud crash coming from one of the classrooms. I followed the direction the sound came from. Then, I saw two silhouettes running to the right. No, more like chasing each other. The curtains were almost blocking the scene, but there was a small space the curtains didn't cover. I peeked at that small space and saw Tomas carrying A.D, but I didn't see where he we carrying him to. Then, I left as fast as I could, and quietly as I can back to my room." Kara testified.
