Chapter 19

Arachne began to walk slowly towards the four of us.

No, three.

I looked around to see the yellow figurine, or 'goldie' for now, but it seemed as if she had disappeared.

"I would love to stick around, but I have other webs to spin and more insects to catch, so let's make this snappy."

Now it was my turn to return the smirk with Adrien.

I could hear the sound of Adrien summoning Cataclysm and Mari calling her lucky charm.

I wasn't going to use my powers yet, at least that way she wouldn't know what hit her.

Both Mari and Adrien began charging towards her at full speed before I saw eight black arms emerging from her back, one of them hitting Adrien's hand and another disintegrated Mari's lucky charm.

They were both taken aback, and I could see their miraculouses starting to beep in unison, counting the minutes left.

I was about to use the "Howl of The Night", but just as I prepared for it, there was an excruciating pain originating from my head, and the next thing I knew, I was somewhere else.

Everything was blurry and I couldn't see anything that would make sense. I saw a wall with ancient writings, and a purple figure with black arms extending from it's back, striking through something red, black, and gold, while I saw blue streaks of light slowly burning them as well. There were other sorts of colored beings laying on the ground. Green, orange, purple and another two colors I can't make out.

When I came round, Arachne was already headed towards me, but I could see a green figure standing before me.

"Go! Get those two out of here!"

It was Master Fu.

Without second thoughts I ran and levitated both Mari and Adrien to a tall building near Mari's Patisserie and I hurried back to see Master Fu kneeling down.

There was a black arm on his back that extended outwards with red liquid on its edges.

"I always thought turtles were slow," she snickered, "I guess they really are."

Rage and fire consumed me, and suddenly, the only thing I could think of was destruction and death.

"Arachne! We end this, now!" I shouted at her direction.

I devised a fireball and threw it at her, but despite the way the fireball can follow the target's movement, my concentration is fading.

"Getting tired? The fun is just about to start," she said as she shot one of her extending arms straight at me. As quick as a snap of my fingers, I dodged her arm, emerged a sword and cut the arm straight off.

There was a scream, followed by another arm that went tearing through the blade of the sword.

I was just about to throw another fireball when she grabbed me by the hand, and slowly I could feel all my energy slowly being sucked out of my body as I tried to uphold my consciousness.

"What do you care about this world? We've destroyed it a dozen times before."

Suddenly, there was another flash of memory inside my head. I could see a red and black blur alongside a golden one, all trying to stop some form of blue and purple magic. The only thing I could see clearly was myself, and Arachne, standing beside me.

Now the place was also starting to become clearer.

Egypt.

"You...you remember..."

The grip on my hand slowly began to loosen up, and I was waiting for another opportunity to concoct another fireball.

"Don't you?"

My hand was freed by the time she had said her last word, and so I threw the fireball at her, only to see it being absorbed by her own body.

"We'll meet again."

"You can count on it."

Then I let her teleport away before my very eyes.

"Will! Are you alright?"

I turned around and forced a smile as I saw Marinette and Adrien running towards me.

"Been better. Where's 'goldie'?"

"Goldie?" Mari was still trying to decide whom I was talking about, before realization hit her, "Oh, she disappeared by the time Arachne came, I couldn't tell where,"

Her face seemed to drop at least a hundred meters deep.

"Is he..."

Suddenly, I heard a thud behind me, and I turned around to see 'goldie', struggling to stand up.

"Hey!" I called out to her as I ran as fast as I could and stopped her from falling down, "What happened?"

"Worry about me later, Master Fu...he's dead...isn't he?"

I only stared at her, and it was enough meaning for her to understand what I meant. I hugged her to give her comfort as she cried.

Mari and Adrien were standing behind the both of us and knelt down beside us.

"We can't stay here too long, our transformations will wear off soon, and we can't let anyone else know our identities. I and Adri-, I mean Chat, will stay under the grid for the moment. I suggest you two do too."

I and 'goldie' nodded in agreement, but one question raced through my mind.

How could she know Master Fu died?
