A New Beginning [Miraculous Ladybug AU]

Chapter 22

It has been a while.

"We're in New York."

Marinette stood there blinded by the speeding lights and deafened by the wild chatter of car engines and people all around her--trying to take in the predicament that they were both in.

"But how did we even get here-"

Marinette stopped herself and searched her purse. The cookies were there, still. 

"W-where's Tikki?" 

Suddenly amidst all the noise, they felt the silence. It wasn't long before they realized their miraculouses were missing as well. Under his breath, will let out an exasperated sigh. 

"Well, we're screwed."

"Belle! Wake up!"

I could hear Texx in the background yelling, but the head just doesn't want to care at all for anything at that moment. It had to be a concussion, there was just no other explanation for the way my head spun endlessly at that moment. 

"Did we get caught?" I managed to squeak out a soft whisper to Belle before nearly passing out cold once again.

"No, we got lucky. Chat was around when both Ladybug and Lunar Wolf attacked, he distracted them long enough for me to force the transformation onto you and went full autopilot."

"You can do that?"

"Technically, well- let's ignore the details," Belle mumbled, "can you move yet?"

Slowly, I got myself up and stretched a little just to loosen up some of the aches from then. Both Ladybug and Lunar Wolf had their eyes blacked out, and they weren't themselves. Something is definitely wrong--but it all just seems too rushed.

"Texx...Flame On!"

"I don't think we've lost our powers though," I told Marinette as we walked down Lexington Avenue. 

It was strange, but for some reason, it felt as if I was in a dream instead of the real New York City. And if it was a dream, all we had to do was to wake ourselves up.

"What do you mean Will?"

"I'm saying that this doesn't feel like New York City at all, something smells fishy down to a tee. For starters-"

In a moment's notice, I quickly grabbed Marinette's hand and pulled her over. 

I knew something was definitely off.

"W-will?"

Luckily the gunshot missed by a hair's breadth. For some reason, it was aimed directly at Marinette. 

"Get down. Stay down."

Guess we've got to fight our way out of here.
