"Aqui~" He cooed, pinning me against the brick wall.
"C-char... stop it... you're hurting me..." I struggled to get words out, my throat was tight and I couldn't breath.
"Why would you want that?" He grins, a madness burning in his eyes. I press a pin further into my wrist pin cushion and a sharp black needle, attached to thread, stabs itself through his arm. He recoils in pain. I press another, and watch as liquid flows around the mark where I punctured him. He goes limp. I retract the needle, hold my skirt up, and run. My hair flowing like water behind me.

"Aqui?" I call out, hearing the front door slam shut.
"I-I'm home Vivvy." The sweet voice calls back, a shakiness edging it. I stand up quickly and rush to the front hall, where I see my big sister, collapsed on the red carpet, sobbing.
"It happened again... didn't it?" I feel my face burn red with fury. She had been fired multiple times for the same reason, revolting mangers not being able to keep their hands of my dear sister, "didn't it?!"
She stares up at me, her eyes bloodshot and mopey, and a gleaming trail of snot sliding from her nose, "Don't wo-orry yourself..."
I grab her arms and head her up, hugging her tight. 13 years olds are not supposed to protect their older siblings. Not at all. I walk her to her room and lay her on her blue blanket covered bed, "Just work at a place with a female manager."
"There aren't any..." Aqui says weakly, hugging her body pillow.
I sigh. It's been too long since Blanc left. He needs to come home.... and quickly. I brush my fingers against the nub of my half arm and lose myself in thought. He has to come home soon... right?
I notice Aqui's eyes close, and I slip away from the room.
"What're you doin'?" Slurred words... drunken smell... sudden depression stinking out the house.
"Good afternoon Father." I make strong eye contact with him, and smile softly, obviously faking it.
"Bout' time you get lost and go to one o' those Combat Schools." I feel his hard glare on me. Luckily I finished being afraid of him years ago. You become a lot tougher when your big brother isn't here to protect you.
"Probably. But I have no weaponry and no money." My words come out duller that I expected. Gross.
"Blanc-Rouge will give ya something when he returns tomorr-"
"He's coming back tomorrow?!" I cut father off and immediately regret it... my excitement got the best of me. I feel a sharp slap across my face.
"Let me finish you filthy rat!" He screeches, "he will give ya something when he returns tomorrow. He has secured you a position in his academy. Same place that Malazai boy is goin' to."
My ears perk up and I smile cheesily, "Malakai is attending the same Academy as I am?"
"Don't ya listen you dumb prick? That's what I just said!" He goes to slap me again, but I dodge it and skip away to my room happily.

~The next day~

Warm, strong arms curl around me in an embrace, and I smell the familiar, yet different, scent of my beloved brother's collar.
"Blanchie~" I say softly, closing my eyes and smiling.
"Violet~" He rests his forehead against mine and grins, "Since when were you grown up?"
"Since I hit puberty!" I laugh and punch his arm playfully.
Blanc laughs as well and twirls me around the room, as if we were dandelions dancing in the daylight, or stars singing in the night.
"Hi Blanchie." Aqui says quietly, appearing from her room. Her hair was longer than when Blanc left, it almost touched her ankles.
"Aqui!" He rushes towards her and hugs her, to which my tiny older sister responds with a giggle and a pat on the head.
"Calm down brother." She bosses.
"Sorry..." Blanc rustles her hair and flops down on the couch, the spiked wrist band attached to his arm cutting a hole in one of the cushions, "E-eh! Sorry... again."
Aqui just shakes her head as though Blanc was a three-year-old and then grabs the cushion and disappears into her room, the pedal of a sewing machine being heard almost immediately.
I stare down at him on the couch and smile, he opens one eye and smiles at me.
"So, my little sister is about to head off to combat school? Eh?"
"Indeed, although, I am required to supply my own weapon..." I stare jealously at Bigz, a twelve-inch dagger, encrusted with rubies and played in gold, perched in Blanc's belt loop.
"I think Tema will help you out with that." He stands up quickly and grabs my arm, pulling me outside. I look around, all of my siblings, even Aqui (not sure how she even got out here) were standing in a crescent shape, all smiling, a weapon of some sort in each of their hands. Aqui, her poison pin cushion, Tema, her stretchy sharp whip, Maddi-Green, her camera that actually shoots, Beige and Blue, their matching silver and gold spikey knuckles... that's to name a few at least.
"What's going on?" My eyes drift to the centre, where and large, long, black case is perched on the ground. Blanc ushers me towards it and grins, stepping away from me.
"It's a gift..." Tema says quietly, flipping her whip slightly, a small crackle burning through the air, "So open it."
My fingers pull the top of the case up, and inside-
"S-silver Skies...." My heart stops. What was this sword doing here... it should be above father's bed, "W-what?"
Rather than the old gleaming handle, a strange cast shaped thing in it's place. A light blue cast, with purple ribbons and brown leather wrapped around it.
"Aqui had to modify it for you, and it look wonderful, does it not?" Blanc beams, itching his chin with the tip of Bigz.
Aqui steps forward and picks Silver Skies up, attaching the cast to my half arm. It feels foreign... yet... natural. She adjusts it without saying a word, and steps back into her place. Silver Skies gleams, the jagged diamonds that edge the blade shining like stars. I look at the clean sword, pure silver... with purple, black and golden platinum acting as an (unnecessary) hand guard.
"M-mummy..." Tears well in my eyes and leak down my cheeks, I slash the air with the blade, and smile at how well balanced it feels.
"Protect it sister," Tema says slowly, "And it will protect you."
"Honey Lace everybody, wisest sister of the year." Maddi-Green claps, and giggles as Tema flinches, hearing her actual name.
I smile once more and admire the sword. Mothers sword. My sword. Our sword.

"I will fight in honour of my mother, my brother, my father and my sister!" Lilac yells to the crowding villagers, "I will fight to honour you all!"
Silver Skies beams in the sunlight, a beacon of hope that the new huntress, Lilac Lace, will protect their small Mistral Village.
