Blanc cradled the small, purple haired, infant. Her screams settled and she started giggling.
"What is her name Blanchie?" Aqui asked, looking down at her younger siblings.
"She shall be called Violetta. Violetta Dais Lace." He responded, holding the baby close. My eyes opened slowly as I took in my surroundings.
I was back in my bedroom, a small, fluffy grey ball snuggling against me. Lilas. I reached out my right hand and patted her soft head, she delivered some quiet hoots in response.
I sat up slowly and noticed a searing pain in my left arm. I tried to bring my fingers up to my face... but I couldn't feel my fingers. At all. It was as if they weren't there. Using my other arm, I moved the blankets out of the way and screeched. I couldn't move my fingers... because I didn't have any. My arm stopped just under my elbow and white bandages clung around it.
"Vivvy.... you're awake!" A groggy voice yawned from the other side of the room. One of my brothers, Blanc-Rouge (Blanc for short) was perched in a chair, his hair more dishevelled than usual, but his bright flame coloured eyes sparkled. He sat up quickly and rushed towards me, wrapping my tiny body in a big hug.
"Do you remember anything Vi?" He questioned, placing a hand on my cheek.
I nodded slowly, the memories flooding back, "D-daddy did this... didn't he?"
Blanc nodded back and planted a warm kiss on my forehead. I hugged him in response, my stubby arm clinging to him awkwardly.
Blanc and I had always been closest. When I was born, father and my siblings couldn't even bear to look at me. Only Blanchie and Aqui even cared that I was alive at that very moment. So Blanc named me. He doesn't know why he chose Violetta Dais, he just did. It fits me, now that I've had it for 6 years. Everyone agrees that it suits me. I love it.
I love my family.
I even love father.
People ask me why I do... I always ask them why I shouldn't.
I'm crazy. But Aunt Etcher says that crazy is just another word for unique, and that unique is good. Aunt Etcher always gives the best advice. Although, apparently she never used to be the way she is now. Some horrific accident permanently damaged her. She doesn't have eyes anymore. But she can still see. Something to do with aura, which I don't quite understand yet.
The neighbours always offer to let me move in with them, so that I don't have to keep getting beaten by father. I just shake my head and say no. They ask why I wish to live with him. I simply say that he is just a sad old man who lost his whole world, and that only I, in time, can fix him. I was the one who caused all this pain after all.... right?
Right.
I'm just glad that my siblings protect me now. It's nice having them around.
"I love you big brother." I say softly.
"I love you too, my beautiful baby sister."
