I froze and Avery noticed my look of complete and utter horror and looked through the peephole. "How did he find you?" he asked quietly. "The dream," I whispered, "The dream. It wasn't a dream. It was a premonition. That's what was going to happen. And now it looks like it is." I sighed in defeat. "I can't loose you." I cried into his shoulder. I tucked my head against his chest and he rested his chin on the top of my head and kissed it. "You won't," he whispered, "One of the perks of being an Angel is you can't die." He led us over to the bed and pulled me onto his hips so I was straddling his hips, facing him.

He tilted my chin up. "Hey," he said at my forlorn expression. "We will make it through this." I nodded my head and he kissed me, long and deep.

"Rosemarie, I know you're in there. You either come out, or I will kill everyone you've ever loved. Your darling best friend, Victoria, ring a bell?" my father taunted. I froze and Avery looked at me and we started to get up.

Is there anywhere we can exit without him seeing us? Avery sent the thought to me.

I practically jumped out of my skin. Was that you? I asked.

Yes.

We can go through the bathroom window, it's facing the forest so that'll buy us some time.

We linked arms and silently went to the bathroom and I looked out the window. My fathers eyes stared back at me through the window.
