As soon as she finished washing the dishes, Leia put them out to dry and walked out into the crater in search of Aunt Beru, wondering what she needed to do next.

Apparently her aunt was looking for her as well, because as soon as the two made eye contact she smiled. "Ah, Leia, there you are. I need you to go and help Luke prep his speeder for travel. He got the old one."

"He always gets the old one." Leia replied, a hint of a smile on her face. Aunt Beru chuckled, then went into the kitchen, leaving Leia to enter the garage where the silver protocol droid-she forgot her name- was taking an oil bath.

"Hello, Miss Leia." The droid greeted her politely, and Leia smiled half-heartedly in response. She never was a big droid person, that was more Luke's thing. She just didn't like how...artificial they were.

"Luke?" She called, looking at the speeder confusedly.

"Down here." Luke responded, wheeling out from underneath. As he sat up, he ungracefully smacked his head on the side of the speeder, and while he exclaimed a very colorful Huttese curse Leia couldn't help but snicker.

"You just have a knack of banging your head on things, don't you? And don't let Aunt Beru hear you ever say that again or else you're bantha food."

Luke muttered something unintelligible, but Leia guessed that it wasn't something she wanted to hear in the first place. "That's the second time today!" He exclaimed, standing up and rubbing his head and staring down at the speeder angrily.

Leia shrugged. "Like I said, you have a knack of it."

He glared at her and popped open the hood of the speeder, glancing inside to make sure everything was set. "Well, you just missed the startup sequence. I know that's your favorite part."

Leia winced, coming to stand next to him with her arms crossed and looked down into the engine area. "It really isn't; I hate the pop the engine makes. Isn't that, I don't know, not normal?"

Luke bit his lip, which was a habit of his when he was either deep into thought or troubled by something. "No, but for a speeder this old I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. It's a wonder it can still get up off of the ground in the first place."

"And of course you take this one instead of the new one all the way out into the Jundland Wastes." Leia stated, giving him a look of disapproval.

Luke shrugged, which angered Leia even more. "Uncle Owen doesn't trust me with the new one, which is probably about right because I've taken it racing before."

"You WHAT?!"

"If you tell him, Leia, you will not live to sixteen."

Leia sighed, shaking your head. "You're not going to live to sixteen if you keep racing like that."

Luke shrugged nonchalantly again, which made Leia fume internally. "Do you even care if you take the old one? What if it breaks down out there so close to the Sand People?" She asked, switching the topic back to the immediate threat that was the Sand People. If that old bucket of bolts broke down, then Luke would be stranded out near the Jundland Wastes, and she didn't even want to think about what would happen if the Sand People were to find Luke stranded and with only a rifle.

"I'll be fine, trust me. No one can sneak up on me." Luke reassured her triumphantly, and Leia smiled mischievously.

"Except for me."
