Three years later
Luke sighed and looked at his chrono. Leia was always late. "Leia, come on! We're on a schedule here!"
Leia burst into the garage right as he said that, with frazzled hair and a shoe in her hand. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" She snapped, hopping into the speeder. "Can you drive? I'm a little busy here."
Luke nodded, and took off out of the garage and into the desert, heading for Toche Station to meet Biggs and Tank to shoot womprats in Beggars Canyon. It was a game they liked to play, where one person would have a rifle filled with paintballs and the other would be driving through the canyon. Whenever another speeder appeared, the shooters would start shooting at each other. Three paintball hits to either the driver or the shooter, and that speeder was out.
"Are you gonna be a driver or a shooter?" Leia yelled over the wind while trying desperately to tame her curls and pull them into a bun.
"Shooter."
"I wanted to be a shooter and we've only got the one rifle!"
"We can take turns like civilized people."
Leia rolled her eyes and finally managed to get all of her long brown hair into her hand, and she quickly braided it and twirled the braid up into a bun. "Hit the accelerator, we're late!"
"That's whose fault again?" Luke asked, shooting a sharp glare at his sister.
Leia groaned. "Just shut up and drive already!"
"Ya know, I thought now that you're seventeen that you'd maybe be a little more mature, but... Nope." Luke replied, annoyed.
He heard her say nothing in response, and smirked and allowed himself this small victory. It was rare whenever Leia didn't have a witty comeback to, well, anything, and the moments when she couldn't think of one were moments of triumph for him.
The two pulled up to the main entrance of the station, where Biggs, Tank, Marka, and Kaye were waiting. Marka and Kaye were Leia's friends, while Biggs and Tank were Luke's.
"Well, look who's right on schedule!" Biggs exclaimed sarcastically, grabbing Luke by the shoulder and ruffling his blonde hair.
"Alright, alright!" Luke exclaimed, pushing away and flattening his hair. "Not the hair, man!"
Leia chuckled, and Luke turned to glare at her. "It was her fault to begin with!" He exclaimed, pointing a finger at her.
Leia held up her hands. "In my defense, you didn't let me know we were running late until we were already running late, so how was I supposed to know?"
"You see, there's this magical thing called a chrono, and-"
"Guys, calm down! You're not that late." Kaye spoke up, grinning and patting Leia's shoulder.
"Well, who's who for the game?" Biggs questioned, leaning against a post with Tank. "There's six of us with three speeders, so that means two per speeder: one driver and one shooter."
Marka spoke up. "I vote the Skywalkers and Darklighter for drivers. They're the best drivers in the biz."
"Isn't that why we shouldn't have them drive, then?" Tank asked, looking at Marka skeptically.
"What's the matter, you scared Tank?" Leia sneered, grinning. "Because you know Luke and I could throw you off the speeder easily?"
"Okay guys, but seriously, shooters raise your hand." Biggs said, apparently annoyed with all the smack talk.
