Once Pearl came into veiw of her beach, her eyes widened as she saw a ship that she knew too well. It was the enemy gem returning back from Homeworld.
She ran faster as more of the scene came into view. She saw an Amethyst wiped out on the ground, Garnet slowly getting up. She stopped by them worried.
" Are you guys alright?" Pearl asked her voice getting caught in her throat as she didn't see Lapis.
" We're fine, but they have Lapis!" Garnet said getting up. Pearl turned around seeing the enemy gem chuckling as they had Lapis by the wrist. Pearl looked at Lapis, who immediately turned her head away. Pearl felt her insides shatter but tried to not let it show.
"What do you want from us?!" Amethyst who must've gotten up, yelled up to the enemy gem.
The enemy gem just laughed. " I want Rose."
"We told you she's not here!" Pearl shouted which caused Lapis to turn her head towards the other slightly.
" Well, that's too bad. I guess you won't get your Lazuli back now."
Pearl immediately drew her weapon, as did the other gems. "Yes we will! You will let her go!" Pearl said.
The enemy gem smirked darkly. " Alright, a fight for her then." With that they tossed Lapis down onto the ship hard. Lapis let out a small cry before turning to look at the scene. She looked so tired. She obviously tried to fight, but Pearl hadn't been there to help.
Pearl nodded. " A fight it is then." All the gems jumped into battle as they were all flung around and tossed back to the beach. Pearl hit the ground dazed for a moment. She slowly got back up. Her hearing was fuzzy, but her sight coming back into focus as she saw Lapis on the ship beginning to cry. Pearl managed to get back up. She began to jump back up to the enemy gem only to get thrown or shoved back to the beach. But Pearl kept crying, getting worse injuries everytime.
" Why don't you just give up already? " The enemy gem sneered as Pearl used her weapon to help her get up. Her legs shaking.
" Because...a true gem never gives up..." Pearl looked back up at the enemy gem.
" But your just a Pearl. Pearl's don't fight."
"Well this one does!" She jumped up again only to have her weapon caught by the enemy gem.
"You should go back to being just an accessory. " When the enemy gem went to throw Pearl back to the ground, Lapis jumped up and wrapped her arms around Pearl.
Pearl's eyes widened as they were both sent to the ground, Lapis' grip tightened to Pearl before Lapis was gone completely.
"Lapis..." Pearl whispered softly tearing up.
