The gems had spent most of the time talking. Well more like Garnet listened, Amethyst asked stupid questions, and Pearl groaned rolling her eyes. Lapis had enjoyed the time. She got to learn the gems' personalities. Amethyst was more carefree and kinda a slacker. Garnet was quiet and caring. Pearl was proper but nice. Seeing how they interacted helped Lapis understand the concept of how she should treat each gem, and what she could talk to each gem about. Although Garnet still seemed suspicious, not just because she was a fusion but because she was so quiet. But, it was mostly because she was a fusion. As far as Lapis could remember, fusion was frowned upon at Homeworld. She was taught that it made weak gems stronger. But Ruby's were usually strong, which didn't make sense on why one would fuse with a Sapphire. Lapis blinked her thoughts away as she saw Pearl get up. She seemed a bit tense. Her eyes were locked on Amethyst who had shrugged smirking. Lapis figured out that she must have said something that had made her mad.
"Uh....is there anywhere else you still have to show me Pearl?" Lapis said softly. She glanced at the other gems making sure she hadn't affended them. When she had glanced at Garnet, she nodded smiling softly. As if that was the best thing to do.
Pearl looked at Lapis smiling softly. Her coldness gone. "Actually, yes there is! Come on. " She began to walk to the front door. Lapis quickly got up and followed her. Pearl walked out of the door and down some stairs. Lapis followed quickly behind. Once at the bottom of the stairs. There was sand. Lapis put her foot on the sand. She felt in between her toes. It was warm. She looked up at the sky. The sun was out and the sky was blue. She looked forward to see Pearl standing a little ways away smiling widely.
"Come on, it's alright. The sand won't hurt you." Lapis walked out to Pearl. Her feet sinking in the sand a little. When Lapis got to Pearl, Pearl bounced a little. "Close your eyes. "
"Why?" Lapis asked confused.
" I have a surprise for you. " Lapis was a little nervous but she did so. Pearl took Lapis' hand and pulled her along slightly. Lapis blushed lightly following. When they stopped, Lapis could hear what sounded like waves hitting a shore. "Alright, open them."
Lapis did so her eyes widening. " Oh my stars...." She was standing on a shore. The water stretching out, almost with no end. She had seen water back at Homeworld. But not this much. They just had little pools of it. This much water amazed her.
Pearl beamed her eyes having little stars in them which made them look like they were shining. " Do you like it?"
Lapis looked at Pearl. A feeling swept over Lapis. She wrapped her arms around Pearl. Hugging her. No one had spent this much time with her ever. Or even took the time to show her stuff like this. It meant a lot to her. "I love it!"
