Ross P.O.V

"I thought I would never get to see your face again." I narrow my eyes at Maia.

"I still love you, you just have to realize that you love me too." Maia steps closer to me.

"Yeah, Like I'd love you again. I love Laura more than I ever thought was possible." I kiss Laura's cheek.

"Wait, you two are dating?" Maia widens her eyes.

"No duh Sherlock." I raise my eyebrows.

"Why?!" She hisses.

"None of your business!" Laura jumps into the conversation.

This makes me chuckle lightly.

"Whatever, c'mon Luke." Maia tugs on Luke's arm.

"Laura, I just want you to know, I'm really truly sorry. If you could just forgive me." Luke frowns.

Laura just stays quiet and looks down at her shoes, "You tried to hurt Ross...I don't think forgiving you right now is possible."

Luke sighs, reaching out and grabbing Laura in an embrace.

"Stop." Laura pushes Luke away.

"C'mon, let's just chat for a bit." Luke giggles.

Man, he really is drunk.

"Dude, back off. She said stop." I state.

"Just, I wanna talk to you, inside my uncle's house." Luke begs.

"Laura, I don't trust him-"

"Ross, he wants to talk to me. Let him talk to me." Laura looks up at me.

"Fine, but I'm coming inside as well." I demand.

"Whatever." Luke leads us inside the home, Maia following as well.

Maia then locks the door and blocks it.

Great, this isn't going to end well.

"I want to talk to you alone." Luke says.

"No, not happening!" I frown angrily.

"Fine, you know what? I'll just talk to you in front of your psychotic boyfriend!" Luke gives in.

"I'm listening." Laura says.

"Laura, I miss you so much, I want to be best friends again." Luke smiles.

"Y-you do?" Laura asks.

He nods, "More than you know. I...I love you Laura." Luke admits.

Oh. Hell. No.

"What the-"

"Wait, Ross. Let him finish." Laura stops me.

"I love you...I love you more than Ross does. You just have to realize that." Luke caresses her cheek.

"Don't." I try and pull Laura away, but she just glares at me...

What is she doing?

She smiles, "I- I love you too."

"What?" I choke.

"I'm sorry Ross." Laura says sadly.

"Why are you doing this to me?" I cringe.

"Because I love Luke." She smiles weakly.

She then hugs him and hesitantly kisses his cheek.

That was it for me.

"I'm done. I'm going home."

"You aren't going anywhere." Maia smirks.

"Maia, please just, let him go. I have something that you want." Laura pleads, then winking at Me without Maia knowing.

Huh?

"What do you have?" Maia comes close to Laura.

Laura then kicks Maia back and pushes Luke.

"Go!" Laura yells, coming with me out the door.

We run back to my house and lock the door.

"Do you really believe I would choose Luke over a guy that I really love?" Laura asks, catching her breath.

"Wait, so that was-"

"All fake? Yes. I just wanted escape from Maia and Luke. I had to pretend because well, he would have just hurt me." Laura smiles.

"I'm glad that was fake. I literally died inside when you kissed Luke and said, 'I love you'." I sigh.

Laura then jumps onto me and kisses my lips.

I'm taken back a bit by surprise, but kiss back.

"I love you, let no one else tell you otherwise." Laura smiles.

"Hey, I said that to you." I chuckle.

"I know. Hey! It's almost 12:00!" She checks her watch, "It's New Years in 5,4,3,2,1-"

I cut her off by kissing her once more.

"Woah, are we interrupting something?" I hear my family say.

Laura and I pull away, laughing.

"Happy New year's!" Laura exclaims.

"Happy New year's!" Everyone cheers together.

We then reconnect our lips again.
