I lean forward more, taking one last breath-

"ROSS, NO!"

Someone pulls me back, making me land on the floor.

"Ow." I groan as I feel a body land on my chest.

Wait...

Who pulled me back inside?

I look at the person.

Oh...It's Rydel.

"I'm sorry, Ross. But, I'm not letting you commit suicide." Rydel shakes her head.

"But, I miss Laura, I need Laura." I glower.

"I know, but I need you. Mom and dad need you. Rocky, Ratliff, and Ryland need you...We all need you." Rydel engulfs me in an embrace.

I let my arms hang by my sides, "I can't."

Rydel lets go, looking at me confused, "You can't what?"

"I can't do this any more. I want to see Laura again."

"Ross..."

"Tell everyone I love them." I smile weakly.

Rydel widens her eyes, "Wait, Ross NO!"

Before she can grab me, I leap back onto the daybed and jump out the window.

"Hello?" I hear a voice ask, shaking me.

I open my eyes and notice I'm on the sidewalk.

I scan my surroundings...

I'm in front of the hotel still.

If I'm here, then that means...

I'm still alive.

A hand waves in front of my face and I look up to see Luke.

"Luke? What are you doing here?!"

"I'm waking you up. Laura wants me to." Luke grumbles.

"WAIT! Did you say, Laura?" I drop my jaw.

"Yeah, Laura. You seem so confused." Luke raises an eyebrow.

"Well duh! How did Laura talk to you if she is dead."

"I know she is dead, because I am too."

"Okay...I'm really confused." I scratch the back of my neck.

Luke sighs, "You don't know you're Dead, do you?"

I shake my head, processing the sentence.

"Laura and I saw you jump out the window. She is pretty upset. She didn't want you to kill yourself. She is waiting for you in the same room you jumped from. " Luke says, pointing to the hotel window.

I walk inside the hotel once more, walking past the attendant.

I stop and watch as she turns and looks at me.

I wave, but she doesn't respond.

Right, she can't see me, I'm transparent.

I walk away and head to room 166.
