A shadow of a shadow of a shadow steals you away
Destiny betrays the intentions of fate
The sun rises again to portray my disgrace
And you're goneThe light of today burns the raw scars on my palms
Friction burns from trying too hard to hold on
Silver and silver and silver that stays
Is all I wish for, enduring lonely daysA shard of your beauty remains when you fade away
But it's marred by cruel markings that left you unwholeEcstatically I welcome you back
Spotting you from a crack in the window
I smile warmly into your cold gaze
Games are played during the days
But at night, for a few precious times each month
You are mine and that is enough

Time Alone
PoetryWhy do I write? Half to save my life, half in an effort to explain what makes life ugly, difficult, dreadful, and indescribably worthwhile. (Of course it's about a girl) This is what I learn in my time alone.
