*Lo*
I stared at him. He was taking great care in opening his notebook and turning each page to find a clean one. Then he took out his pencil and examined the point to make sure it was sharp. He put his pencil down and turned his laser eyes at the teacher.
Tearing my eyes away Chasten, I looked at the board. In her scrawling hand writing, Ms. Banks had written the topic of discussion for today: The Human Emotions.
A movement of motion caught my eye. Chasten was glaring at the board like it murdered his whole family. When he saw me glance at him, his face once again became impassive, making me doubt wether I saw it or not.
" Today we are learning about the human emotions. They are extremely complicated but simple at the same time." Ms Banks opened her mouth again to speak when a laugh came from the room.
"We are in science class, not in therapy." Came a voice from the back.
Ms. Banks eyes darted around the class room, trying to find the speaker. Collecting her self, she replied, " Human emotions are science, Harold. And we are learning how Human emotions differ from animals."
I saw Chasten relax a little, but his eyes remained wary.
"But before we start, who would like to try and explain the difference between human emotions and animal emotions." Ms Banks said.
Stacy raised her hand.
"Stacy." Ms Banks said, pointing at her.
"The human emotions are more complex." She said with a hair flip and a glance at Chasten.
I rolled my eyes internally. Oh please. He wouldn't talk to you even if someone gave him a million dollars to do it. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a slight smile in Chasten's lips. I shot a puzzled look at him. Immediately, it was gone. Please tell me I'm not going crazy.
Chasten raised his hand, avoiding my gaze.
"Animal's emotions are more simple and pure. There is a clear 'lines' between each different emotions. Human emotions tend to run to together and there isn't a clear boundary." He said. Then he looked down, embarrassed.
I openly stared at him. How did he know so much? A muscle in Chasten's jaw ticked.
The rest of the class went in a blur. He didn't speak unless spoken too and seem emotionless.
What is going on?
