I gulped. Rash and burning anger singed me, Lo's anger was like a wild fire.I walked towards her, cringing at what she might say.
Lo stood, facing me, her feet apart and her fists clenched.
"Where have you been?" She asked, annoyed.
I rolled my eyes."Asleep? Passed out? Walking home from school?" I said, sarcasm dripping from my words like rain.
Lo crosses her arms still looking furious.
"I've been waiting for ages. You're late." She said.
"I don't remember inviting you over to my house to yell at me." I said, anger staring to creep into my tone.
Lo looked at me with venom. Suddenly, she shoved papers into my chest.
"Here." She said harshly.
I brushed passed her.
Not even turning around, I called out,
"Thanks for the homework." I stomped up the steps and was in the middle of yanking open the screen door when I felt a tap in my shoulder.
Lo was right behind me, her expression fierce.
"Tell me why you acting so weird in class. "
Sweat almost immediately slicked my palms.
"I just moved to a new school. Of course I acted weird, you've never met me before." I said coolly.
Lo raised an eyebrow.
She was starting to panic and was growing sense of unease. The panic was fluttery, it filled my stomach with jitters. The unease were like showdown growing during the set of the sun, it kept creeping up on you.
In turn I stared at her, like, see? Nothing wrong here, now screw off.
Lo huffed and tossed her dark chocolate hair over her shoulder, making it a lighter milk chocolate.
Then she turned around, her backpack hanged off one shoulder and walked away silently, annoyance rolling off of her.
When she reached the end of the side walk, she turned around and gave me a piercing look and said; "I'll find out about you, Chasten." And with those words, she walked around the corner and disappeared.
I shook my head in mock exasperation because maybe if I acted a way in the out side, I would start to feel that way in the in side.
But, really, I was scared that Lo would find out. Which would be impossible, since there's nothing to be found about me. But something nagged me in the back of my mind. Something about reporters...
I walked into my shabby, messy house and tried to put it out of my mind. I couldn't be that important.
I'm so exited! The ball is really rolling in this story. I know I haven't done Lo's point of view yet, but it's coming soon! Like, just around the next chapter.
