a superhero Christmas

chapter 4

Henry's p.o.v

it is 7:30 in the morning so I had to get dress but since I'm going to be getting dressed as kid danger, it didn't really matter. I took the gum and jumped out of my window.

once I got to the orphanage, I saw ray already as captain man. he was leaning against the wall probably waiting for me. I was still as henry when I walked in. I gave ray a thumbs up to let him know that I'm there and ready. he nodded then stepped forward. I hid behind a wall and looked around to make sure nobody was watching. so I put the bubble in my mouth and blew it. once I turned into kid danger, I walked out by ray. he was standing there with some kids. I waved to him and he waved back.

the person in charge of the orphanage was talking about us for a bit.
"heres captain man and kid danger!!" she yelled as she pointed to us. all the kids were clapping and cheering as we stepped forward. ray introduced himself again and me as well. I just waved as they clapped some more. ray did most of the talking and I was just standing there with my arms crossed. he was telling them a story from one of our adventures. I was listening till I felt a tug on my suit. I looked down and I saw this little girl looking up at me.

she had short brown hair with a nit beenie on. bright blue eyes and freckles around her cheeks. I looked down at her as she smiled at me. which made me smile as well. I kneeled down to her level.
"are you a real superhero?" she asked sweetly and shyly. I really wasn't but I kinda had to give a little white lie.
"yes, I work for captain man." I said pointing to him.
"so what's your name?" I asked her. she didn't answer though. I looked at her and she was standing there emotionless which got me really nervous.
"are you alright kid?" I asked her but then too ladies pulled her away from me. I was really confused. I tapped on the lady shoulder, she looked like the nurse there.
"what's wrong with her?" I asked nervously. she looked around and said...
"her name is Alena, she was dianoist with stage 4 cancer." that really took me by surprise. I didn't know what to say, it just took me by surprise.
"she had cancer for most of her life, and its getting worse. she wanted to meet you so badly but unfortunately she started having breathing problems again." the nurse explained. I had no idea what to think. she really wanted to meet us but she hardly got to because of her diagnosis. I felt so bad. the ambulance arrived and they put a breathing tube on her when she was still barely awake. she was so sweet and little, it just hurt me to watch. I was staring at her as she turned her head while she was on the gernie. she was half conscious. she gently pick up her arm and waved weakly. I waved back. I was leaning against a brick wall as I felt a tap on my shoulder which made me jump, it was ray.
"you alright?" he asked.
"yea, why you asked?" I said fastly.
"you just seem..... jumpy."
"dude I'm fine!" I said with sorrow in my voice!
"well ok but there was an emergency downtown." he said gesturing to the door.
"oh..right, ok." I said as we walked toward the door and left for the mission...
