Luke's POV
The city started to awake and started to show it's light on this dark morning. The light barley started to rise off of the ocean. With smiles plastered on both of our faces. We walked down the suburban streets until we reached the dark lit beach. I took off my black converse and socks. The cold sand met my warm feet making me shiver slightly. I took off my hoodie and laid it on the white sand. I sat down on the jacket and Sydney looked down at me. I looked down at my lap.
She smiled and took a seat on my lap looking off into the ocean. She looked back at me and examined my face. "Your eyes look like the ocean Luke. With the several different shades of blue and the little grey specks looking like little creatures swimming peacefully. You have your own personal ocean within your beautiful eyes" she seemed to look deep into the oceans. "They're your oceans now love" I smiled hoping she got what I meant by that.
"Is this some way of asking me out?" She giggled scratching the back of her neck. I felt my cheeks heat up, and her smile grew bigger. She nodded and pecked my lips. "Look" I pointed off at the now purple looking horizon. Her face changed and she looked amazed by the fast changing sky. With the blink of an eye the sky seemed to change. From purple to a lavender. From a lavender to a baby pink. And so on.
Her eyes never left the sky. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her up onto my lap as the cold breeze blew past us. Her body shivered in my arms. The sky started to turn blue, started the normal routines on the city. The city started waking up. "Syd? After you and Kylie go look at apartments, will you come with me to band practice?" She turned back to me and smiled. "I get to meet the band?!" She shouted sarcastically. I laughed and nodded.
The waves crashed quietly as we walked hand and hand down the silent beach. "How come I've never seen you at school?" I had wondered this all night since she told me we had gone to the same school for ten years. "I hang out with Ms. Irwin, the chemistry teacher, at lunch." She admitted. I laughed remembering how I always get in trouble with Ms. Irwin, even though she's Ashton's mom.
Sydney giggled at my story about how I got in trouble for almost blowing up the science lab. "I remember Ms. Irwin telling me this story! I thought you were the biggest dumbass ever!" She shouted. "Take a picture with me" I looked into her eyes. She nodded as I pulled out my phone. I help the phone up and we both smiled. I snapped the picture, then we both examined it carefully. "We look cute" she giggled and took my phone setting the picture as my wallpaper.
We decided to leave the silent beach, so we walked back into town. Stores started to turn on their glowing open signs and cars ran slowly down the streets. "I like the streets much better at night" I sighed knowing our night had almost come to an end.
Sydney's POV
We walked past Kylie's Tattoo shop with smiles on our faces. Kylie lived in a little room in the back of the shop and always offered me a spot, but I thought my parents would get better and stop treating me like shit. But that end never came as I finally saw last night. After years or Kylie telling me about them, and even her own experience with her parents. She knew this was gonna happened but I was too blind to see the truth.
Luke and I walked down into a small quiet neighborhood. Past the park, we both barely remember being at. I wonder what the useless peice of shit I use to call father thought of his gift. I hope he enjoyed it. It was a pretty great gift if you ask me. Used condom on his nice bed display and a huge dick on the wall. My thighs were kind of sore from the new sensation. I'm glad Luke was the one who took the last thing I had left.
But I think Luke also returned something to me. Hope. Hope that I'll be happy in the future. Hope that the negativity in this world will end someday. And hope that I can live and better the world and people around me. I can make a difference in this world if I stay alive. I can be happy. Last night seemed like a dream, a happy dream. A night I don't think I'll ever forget.
"It's almost eight, my mom is gonna start wondering why I'm not awake yet." Luke knocked me out of my day dream. I sighed softly knowing he wanted me to start walking with him back to his house. "One last thing" I pulled out a small container of concealer. "Look at me" I giggled seeing the dark purple marks on his neck. I dabbed a small amount on the areas and softly blended them in so they would match his skin tone. The purple marks seemed to vanish as the concealer was blended in.
"And what about these?" He lifted up his shirt slowly to reveal two more marks one on his collarbone and the other in the middle of his rib cage. "Did I really give you that many hickeys?!" I shouted and he laughed. He nodded his head "and I gave you two" he pulled my hair back and admired his 'work.' He grew more and more confident as I knew he would. We continued to walk until we reached a big neighborhood with houses that looked the same but were just different colors.
Luke pointed towards the blue house on the corner of the street. Parked outside was a small minivan and another family car. We walked up to the house and Luke pulled me around to the side of the house. He softly pushed me against the the blue walls and planted his lips on mine. I kissed backed softly, running my fingers through his long blonde fringe. I playfully tugged on a few stands making his lips quiver. I heard a quiet but consistent beeping coming from above us. Luke groaned and I knew he'd have to get back into his room. "Meet me at Kylie's at 12" he kissed me once more before leaving me with my back against the wall.
