So that just happened, Gracie thought humiliation forcing scalding waves of tears to push against her eyelids. I have just slept with my boss, a secretary being swept off on her feet by her rich millionaire, giving up her virginity and leaving him disappointed. This moment is straight from one of my mom's old romance novels. She thought already seeing the title in big gold letters across the cover, 'The virgins disgrace' or maybe, ' A shameful innocent'. Gracie could not help but think that if it had been anyone else in this position, or if this really had been one of her mom's books she would be having been rolling her eyes at the cliché. I just want to be shivering on my couch waiting for my landlord to arrive to fix my boiler watching another firefly rerun on the Syfy channel. Gracie thought as she took a deep shuddering breath. She knew she would have to open her eyes and acknowledge the situation she was in soon. Keeping her eyes closed won't turn back the clock. It won't make a Galinda appear with some ruby red slippers and let her click her heals three times and poof she would be home. Turning her head to the side away from Alexi gaze Gracie slowly opens her eyes, the feel of her tangled hair and crumpled close adding to her shame giving her further proof of how easy she had allowed all of this to happen. Gracie had always thought that she would wait for something special. She had waited so long already and then in a few moments of lust she felt broken and used. A cool draft floated over the uncovered parts of her body making her shiver and realise that she was still exposed. Gracie sat up slowly. A twinge in her core and a burning sensation the internal sign of her new status as a fallen woman, Gracie was so deep in her thoughts that she did not realise that Alexi was speaking to her. Shame and disappointment can have that noise cancelling effect on a person. Alexi repeated himself again,

"Gracie, were you a virgin," Alexi tone was harsh, "why didn't you tell me?"

Gracie stayed silent, not wanting to face him. She knew they first sound she made would be the start of admitting her own stupidity.

"I know you are not sleeping Gracie, Answer me,"

Gracie shifted further away from Alexi curling up on herself away from him. "it just happened ok." She whispered.

"what just happened," he said.

"This just happened, us, this right now. Do we really need to have a discussion about it. " wispered Gracie. Alexi shifted from the edge of the bed and put his hand on her thigh trying to get Gracie to turn and face him. In the short time he had known her, he had come to realise that her face was her main source of expression. She could say more through a quirk of her lips then most could say in dissertation. Without seeing her face Alexi knew he was wandering blind in to a minefield.

"Turn to me agapi mou, I need to see your face." Alexi s hand moved further up to her hip and he applied pressure just enough to get her to face him. She looked sad her face pale with red streaks flaming across her cheek bones and the build up to tears clearly visible behind her eyes. He felt a stab of guilt for taking something he knew was very special. Gigga had always taught him a woman's innocence should be given to their husband or at least the person they love. He fit neither of those categories. At best they were in a short term business arrangement. If she had not been a virgin he could just round this experience off by buying some jewellery or a nice bag and have it sent to her when they return to London. But how are you supposed to compensate a woman for taking their innocence.

"Why," he said in a crushed growl that caused her to flinch.

"Do we really need to talk about this," she said quietly the sense of humiliation and embarrassment flowing through her like lava slowly flowing out of a crack in the earth, destroying hope pride and her basic sense of decorum and leaving behind shame, searing painfully shame and disappointment. "we made a mistake, now all we have to do is not repeat it." Gracie said trying to think of ways to move past this moment with the lease amount of humiliation possible and some how survive the experience in tact. She still had to see him and act as his fiancée for the rest of the trip. Gracie suppressed the urge to groan, the rest of the trip surrounded by his family... what if they guessed what they had been doing. This could not have been the first time Alexi had brought slept with someone on the island. That thought punched her in the gut like wreaking ball, he had probably slept with other women on the island. She could not be the first, maybe even in this very hut. His family were probably already laughing at her, which explains that man earlier, the cousin Alexi said was just being stupid.
