Chapter Twenty- Two

Alice's POV
*26 Weeks Pregnant*

I sipped my nice warm hot cocoa as I sat beside the fireplace with Justin, a large blanket wrapped around us. The only light in the room was the glow of the fire.

It's coming up to eleven at night and everyone was already in bed. Justin and I decided to stay down here and snuggle up by the fire. I was in a relaxed mood. Princess was also relaxed. Every now and then I would feel little flutter kicks.

"I really like your family." I said calmly.

"They like you too." He smiled down at me. He rubbed my thigh as I snuggled closer.

We stayed snuggled up together for another five minutes before he decided to speak up. "I miss you calling me daddy."

"I know. Me too. But I'm just not ready yet. You understand, right?" I asked a little wary.

"Of course I understand. I was being an unreasonable dick back when everything happened. I feel like shit for putting the blame on you when it wasn't really your fault. I am still so sorry baby girl." He kissed my temple.

"Shit happens." I shrugged. "But we have our little angel baby now. That's all that matters." I smiled at him. "Soon enough, I won't be the only one calling you daddy." I bit my lip.

"Stop being such a little tease." He laughed.

We went quiet again just snuggling up by the fire.

"I'm so excited to be a dad." He whispered in my ear.

I smiled and felt a slight ache in my back. I wiggled a little to try to ease the tension.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Just a little cramp. Nothing serious."

"Are you sure?" He was very worried.

"Yeah. I'm-" I was cut off by excruciating pain shooting through my body. I dropped my mug and it spilled on the floor beside me.

"Alice." He said shakily.

"I need to go to the hospital. Something doesn't feel right." I breathed out.

And we did. Justin woke up his mom and we went to the hospital.

We were in the waiting room for almost two hours before a doctor would see us. I guess women were having babies left and right today and didn't have room for me at the moment. The pain was subsiding but would get worse as time moved on.

We finally got a room and I explained to the nurse what was wrong, "I was sitting in the living room when my back and stomach began to hurt. I thought it was just a cramp or the baby was moving around in weird ways, but then it got to the point to where I was in tears. It still hurts now." I breathed out.

"Okay. How far along are you?" She asked writing down what I just told her.

"I am twenty six weeks." I answered.

"Okay. How often does the pain intensify?"

"About every twenty minutes or so."

"Change into this gown for me and I will see what is going on and I'll be back with the doctor."

"Thank you."

Once changed and back on the bed, I felt the baby move.

"Please be okay, baby." I began to cry. I didn't want to lose her like the other one.

"She's going to be fine. Don't worry." Said Justin holding my hand.

"I sure hope so." I sniffled.

The nurse and doctor came back thirty minutes later and did a quick check up.

"Well you're not in labor, so that's the good part. The pain was just Braxton hicks. It's common during pregnancies. But to get them to settle, you need as much rest as you can. I want you in bed for the few weeks. No exceptions." Said the doctor.

"But we're leaving back to California in two days." Said Justin.

"Well. While you're here, stay in bed then same thing for when you get home. But after your trip, I suggest no more flying until after the baby is born." He stated.

"Okay. I'm just glad nothing is wrong with the baby." I sighed rubbing my belly.

"She's perfectly healthy." He smiled.

"Now let's get you checked out one more time so you can go home and rest."

A/N:

Okay , super super short chapter but I wanted to get a chapter to you guys ASAP.

Like I said I'm going to be taking a short break from "Yes, Daddy" and I am going to start a new ddlg story that is slower and more organized. If you would like to read that, it will be called "Daddy's Little Princess."

So. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. Once again, I'm sorry that it is so short. But it's the best I could do right now.
