"We will check how far along we are, see if the baby is close and make sure everything is okay. I will make an exception this one time but it all depends. Okay?" We both nodded.

The doctor checked to see how far I was dilated muttering a "six" under his breath. He looked over the machines and nodded. Assuming that's a good sign.

"Alright. I'll go order that epidural, and see what happens from there. I'll check in on you in another hour."
