HIM

After she left, he sat there wondering. Did that conversation mean she accepted his deal? His mind was jumping to conclusions and stringing together actions that probably had no motives behind them. He shook his head in an attempt to clear his mind and put on his headphones and played the song Julia had told him to listen to, pressing his face to the window to people watch.

Lost in innocence

Take this fragile heart

We know where we've beenAll these miles together

When they'd talked, he'd felt stable and safe and free. As if he had no more responsibilities on his shoulders, except to make her smile. She was so innocent, so fragile, almost afraid to open the door to the walls she'd built around her.

Fall into my skin
Crash into these arms

We know where this ends

Fade into forever

These were the words he wanted to say to her, wanted to tell her that whatever was bothering her was going to be alright. That he'd be there for her no matter what.

The road is wild, we're holding on for life

Like a child who's not afraid to cry

We were escaping to a place we'll never know

Just you and me, love

We are almost home

Home, he smiled sadly. He'd felt home with her. And, he thought, maybe we both needed home. The deal he'd proposed to her was a silly thing, a little hope in the heart kind of something that he wished she'd agree to so that they could spend more time together. So that he'd get to know her more. In practical terms, he'd already lost before it even started.

Lost inside your eyes

Those brilliant, dazzled stars

Show me every side

The good, the bad, the better

He just wanted to know her more than anything. To know her so well that she'd no longer be afraid to be herself in this world.

The road is wild, we're holding on for life

Like a child who's not afraid to cry

We were escaping to a place we'll never know

Just you and me, love

We are almost home

Promise you, I'll be

The promise you can keep'Til the end of time

And on the other side

She was his promise that underneath all the cruelty that this world is, all the anger and hate, permanence, love and originality still existed. Still thrived in humanity.

The road is wild, we're holding on for life

Like a child who's not afraid to cryWe were escaping to a place we'll never knowJust you and me, loveJust you and me, loveJust you and me, loveWe are almost home

She was fall. Her eyes his favorite homely warm brown. And perhaps she was his home, where his heart was.

And perhaps she was his home, where his heart was

Unfortunately, a few glitches on my laptop are causing the arrangement of the lyrics to go haywire. But, I hope the genuine emotions portrayed through Alex & Sierra's Almost Home will make up for it!
