The wind was roaring, trees shaking like mere twigs. I run into my mother's arms. I heard father come, and hug us. We just stood there, scared, cold, and confused."W- What are we going to do?" I ask, my voice shaking. Suddenly a huge bolt of lightning strikes one of the rose gums. Flames erupt from the tree, blazing strongly through the downpour of rain. I hear a sickening crack. Slowly, the tree sways to on side, and begins to fall, right above us. "RUN!!!!!!" My mother screams at the top of her lungs. The three of us run, sideways and forwards, confused. I was cold, drenched and scared. The huge tree was still easily above us. I closed my eyes in fear and ran. I run for a while before I hear some scream. "RACHEL!!!!!" I open my eyes. The flaming rose gum is only a few feet away from me. My parents made it to the bike track. I sped backwards to safety. The tree thuds on the ground, but the flames begin to spread. I run, away from the flames, away from my parents, away from the normal life of Rachel Summers.

I ran for hours. The rain was thundering down, but that did not stop the fire. It was like it was following me, every five meters I ran, it gained three. The fire had settled down, no more than a whisp of smoke. I was cold, I was scared....... I was lost. I slowed down, my chest heaving from the effort of the run. The sun was melting into the horizon. Stars shone weakly, still outdone by the golden light of the sun. I come across a hollow tree. A dry patch is at the bottom. I crawl, my legs aching. Not thinking of the spiders or snakes, I settle down in the little protection I have, and sleep. I was woken in the middle of the night. The air was silent. This is weird. Then I heard it. "I tried to warn you."
