I follow Ann at a run. The sun is sliding up, dawn approaching fast. I run for hours, following the near invisible shape ahead. The stars shine weakly in the sky. After hours, my feet begin to ache. I see a circular track around a small tree... The bike track! Ann goes through the path to Nelly's place. I follow. There, in the clearing, is Nelly. She stares at Ann, then at me. Nelly speaks." Its nearly morning. We must hurry." A small shape is in the dirt. That must be something to help Ann. Indeed, Ann floated to the image and took her place. "I'm coming Gunoo." Ann whispered. Ann smiled at me. "Good luck Rachel, guardian of the billabong. If you need help, just talk to the wind." The rising sun shine it's brilliant rays of golden light. Ann slowly floated to the remains of the stars, before disappearing in a flash of white light. Nelly smiled." She walks in the stars now." I nodded. Nelly smiles again. "Goodbye Rachel. You better hurry, your parents are worried about you."

I run along the track. In the distance, I see the SES tent. Mum and dad are there. My mother was crying. "Oh Rachel, my sweet, sweet Rachel!" She sobbed. "Yes mum?" I try not to laugh, but the thought of her reaction amused me. "RACHEL!!! How did you survive, let alone, find your way back?" My parents were shocked. I shook my head." Too tired to talk. May we go home now??" My mum smiled. "Of course sweetie." Turns out mum and dad were about to go home, so all we had to do was hop in the car. I slept the whole way, only waking to eat and drink. We arrived at the driveway to the house. I got out, and walked. A faint breeze ruffled my hair. Yes, I was home.

The End.
