The loud sound of two wooden doors closing shut resonated throughout the massive room. Lines of towering bookshelves populated the entire room, each being filled to the brim with individual and unique books. The dark being breathed in the dusty smell the library had harbored, then breathed out again, gaining a sense of satisfaction as he did so. As he took a few steps further into the library, he noticed movement from the corner of his eye and he looked over to see a crimson-colored creature with the head of an octopus and the body of a man standing behind a wooden desk, reading a book.

"Welcome back, sir. It's always good to have you back here again." the creature spoke, as it looked up from its leather-bound book.

The dark being raised his left hand up and gave a small wave to the creature as it looked back down to its book and began reading it again. He looked back towards the rest of the library itself and walked further into the labyrinth of bookshelves. He walked over to a fine wooden bookshelf that towered over him and began to scan the bookshelf, particularly, for a certain book he was looking for. After a few moments of searching, he placed his hand onto the spine of a book, and pulled it out of the bookshelf. He took a moment to inspect the book, to which he noticed that the navy cover made of leather was covered by a thin layer of dust that he assumed had collected over years. He turned around to see a table and a few chairs neatly placed around it. He approached the table, pulled out a dusty chair, then sat down onto the velvet cushion that was already placed on it. The book he had in his hands felt soft and worn from age as he inspected it once more, checking every side of it from every angle. He gently placed it onto the table, and dust flew out from under the book on impact.

"This is the book..." he quietly whispered under his breath.

He stared at the dusty book in awe for a few moments, then leaned in closer and flipped the book open to the first page. It was dusty and rough to the touch, but he ignored it. Transcribed on the first page was a small sentence in the center of the page written in dry black ink that read:

"He who hath been granted the knowledge abounded within this book shall be granted the knowledge of the universe of  which surrounds us."

He raised an eyebrow in curiosity and wondered as to what the sentence really meant. He took a moment to ponder upon it, then placed his hand under the next page and flipped it across to the other side. Unlike the previous page, the two pages that faced him were filled to the brim with black text written in cursive. He took a deep breath and looked at the first words of the left page, to which he began to read quietly under his breath.

"Chapter 1 - Year Zero."

"...In the beginning of time, there was but nothing that had existed. Nothing but the complete and utter darkness had enveloped the empty void of space, completely devoid of any kind of matter at all.

Year 1 - From the darkness was born a small and insignificant azure-colored light. It had barely shined amongst the surrounding darkness, but as time itself continued to pass, the light grew brighter and bigger, slowly overpowering the darkness surrounding it. When the light became so large and bright to the point it could not grow any more, it had exploded into enormous clusters of beautiful supernovas. These supernovas had lit up the entire universe, eliminating any traces of the dark void that had once inhabited the entire universe.

In the midst of two supernovas, something extraordinary was born. Something with powers unimaginable. Something with a special type of potential. This 'something' was two different living being. They were divine beings.
