It was December of 1983. Christmas actually. A month since Will was 'brought back to life'. Since everything was normal again.
Well, not everything...
Mike, Dustin, Will, Lucas and Aimee sat around a table and played their game. Aimee had finally gotten to play with her friends and she couldn't be more happier.
"Something is coming. Something angry." Mike chanted mysteriously. "Hungry for your blood. It is almost here."
"What is it?" Will asked incredulously.
"The thessalhydra!" Aimee spouted. She has brought up to speed on their game.
"It's the thessalhydra, I'm telling you." Dustin agreed with Aimee.
"It's not the thessalhydra."
"I'm telling you, it's the thessalhydra."
Mike bangs the piece down on the table. "The thessalhydra!"
They all groan a "damn it."
"It roars in anger! Will, your action!"
"What should I do?" Will questioned, all confused. "I-"
"Fireball him!" Lucas yelled. He looked to Aimee and she nodded a excited yes! Then he looked to Dustin.
"Fireball the son of a bitch." Will rolled and it landed on a 14.
"Fourteen!" Everyone exclaimed.
"Direct hit."
"Will the Wise's fireball hits the thessalhydra. It makes a painful" Mike imitates the screeching, acting out the thessalhydra's death. "and then it crumbles to the ground. Its clawed hand reaches for you one last time and, and, and, and..." Mike fell to the ground. Everyone cheered.
"The lovebirds, Lucas and Aimee," Mike says in jealousy. "cuts off it's seven heads, and Dustin places them into his bag of holding. You carry the heads out of the dungeon, victorious, and you present them to King Tristan. He thanks you for your bravery and service." Lucas and Dustin exchanged looks.
"Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, that's not it, is it?" Dustin interrogated.
"No, there's a medal ceremony-"
"Oh, a medal ceremony? What are you talking about?"
"And-"
"Yeah, man. The campaign was way too short."
"Yeah!"
"It was ten hours!" Mike argued.
"But it doesn't make any sense."
"It makes sense."
"Uh, no, what about the lost knight?"
"And the proud princess?"
"And those weird flowers in the cave?"
"And the proud princess?" Aimee repeated, gesturing to herself.
"I don't know, it's-" Aimee heard footsteps from the stairs and caught sight of Jonathan. Aimee waved frantically. He waved frantically. It's their thing now!
"Jeez, what's that smell? Have you guys been playing games all day, or just farting?" He joked as he walked up. They chuckled.
"Oh, that's just Dustin." Lucas said, to the annoyance of Dustin. "He farted. Dustin farted.
Had fun?
El?
Hi.
Tell me where you are. So we can help you.
Can't do that.
El?
Bye, Aimes.
With that, El was gone once more. Aimee watched as Will left with Jonathan. She looked at the area where El used to spend the night. She wishes she could have stayed. To enjoy normal life.
But she risked all of that.
To save her friends' life.
That right there is a true friend!
Later, Aimee called her mom to ask her to spend the night at Mike's.
"Yes, but come home first. I need to tell you something." She said on the phone. Aimee hung up and told Mike and his parents she'll be back.
She soon left the Wheeler's and ran across the street to her house.
She opened the door and walked in.
"Mom? Michelle?"
Bonnie and Michelle walked out of the kitchen smiling, nearly crying too.
"W-what's going on?"
"Aimee..." Michelle muttered.
Aimee was afraid. Is something wrong? "What's the matter?"
"I'm pregnant!" Bonnie stated happily.
