Immature and young, I have a twisted tongue
Words of release were sung, and when you heard them, you swung
I say I hold on but my grip is weakening, the scars on my body deepening

I don't know how much longer I can love you
Tears stain my pillow case and I question wether your love is true
My ring finger is broken from the time I pulled off the band
At least I thought it was just my finger, turns out it was my whole hand

After that I realized my heart was broken as well
But this time it was a heartbreak no amount of consolation could quell
The water on my face starts to sting
But when I try to wipe it away, it clings

I never thought that things would be this way
I never thought I would find it so hard to stay
And so with basic rhymes and broken promises:
My love for you becomes monotonous
