Part 10

After watching tv for most of the morning I finally got up and put on some clothes before going back downstairs. I looked at mom for a moment then wrote a note as a reminder and grabbed my aeropostal jacket and walked outside. For it to have rain it was very calm outside. I walked into the trees in the backyard and looked around. No birds chirped today. I paused getting the feeling I was being watched and said quietly "Junior?" Silence is all there was. I turned around in a circle then started walking again but paused hearing someone else's steps on the wet leaves. "Not funny if you're trying to scare me again" I said trying to show I was tough. I pushed my hood on the jacket back and turned around quickly running into him. I looked up at him slightly and then stepped back shaking my head saying "Thought I said no more sneaking up on me?" He smirked and said "You really expected me to listen?" I blinked and looked off slightly and said "So...you got me out here why?" He smirked again and started off past me and I followed after him. We walked for a minute till he picked up his pace. Did he really want me running? After a moment of going at a jog he went out into a run and I followed. Although I'm pretty sure he stayed close knowing he was faster than I was. I don't know how long we ran but when we stopped I wasn't out of breath at all! I looked around. I could tell we were deeper in the woods because of the vegetation. "So you gonna tell me what we're doing or what?" I asked stopping a bit behind him when he did the same at a large tree. He looked back saying "Come on" holding out his hand. I stared at him for a minute trying to decide whether or not I should take it then he said "Trust me...okay?" I blinked looking back to him and stepped closer taking hold of his hand and he led me through some bushes. On the other side was a nice sized clearing with a pond. But beside the pond were four large wolves. I stopped abruptly and they all looked our way. My breath got caught in my throat as Junior came behind me and gently pushed me to walk forward a bit more then stopped again and I watched a light brown wolf walk up slowly. I stared at it for a second and then it sat down in front of me tail waving over the ground. I stared in its eyes and then noticed them. They held the same playfulness as somebody I knew. "Brent?" I asked and he licked the side of my face. I smiled and hugged him tightly around the neck. Then a wet nose touched my forehead and I looked up seeing more of a greyish wolf. I looked at this one confused then it hit me. "Tyler!" He did a quick circle and I patted his head. I let my eyes go to the other two wolves. One a brown/black the other was more black/silver. "Micah..." I said trailing off and he nodded briefly. I watched Mya walk up closer though and Brent and Tyler moved away. I stared at her quietly and breathed in deeply. She stopped a bit from me and I saw her ears go back and the corners of jaws start to go up. I blinked "I'm not afraid of you. Not anymore..." I spoke to her. My voice was calm and didn't falter. Front half of her body started to go down when she blinked and then backed away. I slightly smirked and then felt a breath on my head. I turned around seeing a pitch black wolf again with yellow eyes. I stepped back quickly toward Brent and Tyler and they only stopped me. I stared at Junior and he walked up slowly and I shook my head starting to move again and he stopped sitting down. I watched him and then said "Y...you're bigger than them" A rumbling sound came from him so I suspected he was chuckling. He sat patiently looking at me and then after a moment Brent shoved me forward. I stumbled forward and Junior caught me as I looked back at Brent who was looking away innocently. I looked back at Junior and he grunted as I was on his face. I stood back up and then heard some thunder rumble in the distance. My head went up for a moment then I heard Junior say "I'd better get you back home" I looked back at him as he was in his human form again and had on the same thing as last night. Shaking my head I said "Its alright. My mom has to work plus I have my cell if she calls" He shook his head and said "Naw...its better for you to go home. You won't be able to keep up with us running" I blinked slightly feeling that it was an insult. "What he means to say is that you are human, Zania" Brent quickly said and I looked at him. His eyes held something though as he said it. Was that...pity? He pitied me? Thinking for a moment I started to say something else and another rumble sounded off and Junior got my hand and started walking me back the way we came.
