"Jenny, are you up yet?" The gentle voice of my little brother questioned and I could feel myself smile slightly. I soon after felt him shake me with his hands, and when that failed to get me up, his tiny fingers went poking and prodding at my back. "Jenny! School!" He whined and I turned around, picking the five-year old up.
"Morning butthead!" I chirped and he squealed as he looked at me. "Did mom send you in here?" I asked and he nodded as I sat up.
He gave me a hug and I scrunched my nose up, pretending to be irritated at the loving gesture. "Morning Jenny." He smiled and I rubbed his back, running my hands through his really curly brown hair.
There's no way in hell someone could be irritated with him. He is an angel.
"Mama wants you up." He informed me and I nodded as I sat him back on my bed. "Can I pick out your clothes today? Please?" He asked excitedly and I nodded.
"Make sure it's cute. I want Harry to like me even more than he ready does." I decided and he nodded as he went to my closet.
"He'll love it!"
"Jennifer!" My mom warned from downstairs as I swiftly got out of bed. I went to the kitchen and saw her cooking eggs, bacon, and toast. "You're actually up before breakfast? It's a miracle."
I nodded and she handed me a glass of orange juice. "I have soccer practice today, and I'm gonna hang out with Marina. So I might be home late. Oops?" I told her and she nodded after a moment or two passed.
"Can her parents drop you off tonight? I need to take Kendall to the barbershop after work and pick up your sister. She's coming home tonight... and he looks like some kind of 80's rockstar." She said and I agreed.
"Yeah, that's fine." I told her and we both laughed. "Butthead is gonna start singing I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing soon watch." I joked as she made two plates.
"I'm going to blame you if he does." She acknowledged me and I snorted as he came running into the kitchen. "Woah there lil' man." She warned and he held up two necklaces.
"Jenny, which one?" He asked me and our mother looked at me in disbelief. "I like this one because it has me in it." He gushed and showed me the locket.
"You're having your brother pick out your jewelry? Jennifer!" My mom gasped in mock-horror.
"Mom, he asked!" I defended myself and Kenny nodded. "I'll wear the locket bub." I commented and he nodded as he ran back upstairs. "Don't fall! We don't have pendejo insurance!"
"I don't need two gay kids." My mom spoke up and I rolled my eyes, knowing that she was just joking. "Here, eat your food and then get dressed. We have a busy day today." She informed me and I thanked her.
"Kenny! Stop being your sister's maid and come eat! It's almost time to go!" She shouted and I rolled my eyes.
"Mama! What would Harry like more? A-Adas or this really tall shoe?" I heard Kenny yell and my mom face palmed.
"I think he means Adidas or heels..." I had the guts to mention and she shook her head as I took a bite of my toast.
"We'll talk about it down here Kenny. Come eat." She called and I smiled to myself as she looked at me. "Please stop making your brother pick your outfits."
"Okay I will... when he stops asking." I proclaimed and she shook her head as Kenny came down. He smiled and sat down beside me.
"I like the a-a... um adas more." He stated and I just nodded. "They look like my shoes." He smiled and showed me his tiny black and white Adidas.
