"The tailor is here. Don't be afaid of her." Shawn said and I shrugged as I ate an orange.

"You said she's mean." I remarked and he nodded as he scratched the back of his neck.

"She's only mean if you aren't compliant." He informed me and I nodded. "Also, you can go in the backyard and wander around the house. You don't have to stay in your room and the kitchen only."

"What's there for me to see? Nothing will change my mind about being here." I told him and he nodded.

"I'm not trying to." He chuckled and took a drink of his water. "Might as well make yourself at home if you're gonna be stuck here. The house is pretty nice, though our situation is not."

"Maybe I'll take a look... maybe." I answered and he nodded and there was a knock on the door. "Go answer the door."

"Alright. Alright." He told me and stood up, going to the front door. I heard it open, and then heels were tapping against the tiled flooring by the door.

"No one ever makes it this far without throwing toddler tantrums." I heard a new voice and I took a deep breath. "Is this her?" She asked and I stood up.

"Yeah, um Jennifer, meet Emerald." Shawn said and I forced a smile as the woman looked over me.

"How am I supposed to get her measurements if she's dressed in bags? Take it off!" She demanded and I widened my eyes.

"You guys can go upstairs-"

"I do not have all day. Your father said you requested her clothes as early as tomorrow." She said and pulled out a measuring strip from her bag.

"I'll leave then so you're more comfortable." Shawn offered and left the room, leaving me and the woman alone. She rushed me and I hesitantly raised the sweatshirt I had on.

I took a deep breath and then set it on a chair as she wrapped measuring tape around my waist. "Looks like you already got busy with him." She winked and I shook my head quickly in disagreement.

"No!" I nearly yelled as my cheeks burned red. "It's from my boyfriend a couple of days ago. Shawn isn't my boyfriend." I mumbled as she wrote down my body measurements on a clipboard.

"It'll happen sooner or later." She told me and I rolled my eyes. "He's quite a charming young man."

"He's not my type."

"He doesn't have to be." She retorted and I tried to make sense of what she was saying. I gave up soon after, settling on a shake of the head and a disagree.

"I have papers for you to fill out so I can tailor your closet to your liking. After I get all your measurements, you have ten minutes to fill it out." She informed me, tossing a packet on the table.

I rolled my eyes as she wrapped the tape around my waist. I wasn't thin, but I wasn't what most people called 'chubby'. I was caught inbetween somewhere, the results of constant conditioning and soccer games, and too many burritos from the taco truck closest to my school.

She seemed slightly upset that I wasn't super thin, but what could I do? I wasn't going to be her picture perfect barbie doll. I wasn't trying to impress anyone.

"Take off your pants." She added soon after and I was even more hesitant. "Hurry!" She urged, and her loud voice made me rush.

I kicked the sweats off and she measured how long my legs were and how wide my my hips were. She wrapped the tape around my thighs aswell, writing all the numbers down on a clipboard. The last things she measured were my fingers, wrists, and neck, probably for jewelry purposes. I wouldn't know though.
