"Shawn!"

"It was an accident!"

Two hours until we were going to eat dinner, and he nearly dropped the small saucepan full of gravy. I took it and then poured it into a measuring cup since he didn't own a gravy boat.

"You're supposed to be the chef too, but you're over here dropping things." I scolded and he apologized as I shook my head.

"It was hot and you have the oven mittens!" He whined at me and I dismissed him, pretending not to hear. "Don't blame me!"

"Who am I gonna blame then? Casper?" I asked him and he laughed as I shook my head. "Be careful."

"I can try." He told me and I nodded as I pulled the turkey out of the oven. We cooked it at like three in the morning, but reheated it about ten minutes ago since it got cold.

"That's all I ask." I responded as I set the pan on the table, which had wire rack on top so the hot metal wasn't against the wooden table surface.

As he began to mix mashed potatoes with some milk, I began to grab two plates and some silverware. "We're gonna eat in the living room, if that's okay with you." He offered and I nodded.

"That's fine. It'll be awkward sitting at a table with just us two." I reasoned and he chuckled half-heartedly.

"Yeah..."

"All we need to wait for your your potatoes." I said and he looked at me, smiling proudly.

"They look and smell great. It'll be worth the wait." He bragged and I scoffed as I crossed my arms.

"Okay chef Gordon Ramsay." I said and he began mimicking the British celebrity. I grabbed us two glasses and then set it on the table too.

"Mind finding a movie for us to watch?" He asked and I shook my head, walking into the living room.

I grabbed the remote and then searched through the movies, which only took a second because I've been dying to watch The Girl On The Train. I heard it was really good, but I never was able to catch it in the theaters.

I put it on and then paused it, setting the remote down. I went back in the kitchen and Shawn was fixing our plates. "What if I didn't want to eat your potatoes?" I commented and he looked at me.

"Oh well, you have to. I put blood, sweat, tears, and love into these." He answered and I rolled my eyes as I poured myself a glass of ice water. "Come on, just a little?"

"I mean, okay, but only because you put so much effort into it." I told him and he cheered, dancing around the kitchen. "You're gonna kill us!" I said since he had a carving knife in his hand.

"Uh... oops?" He said and I took it from him. He jumped back when I pointed it at him, and I couldn't help but blush.

"You're not allowed to use this." I told him and he groaned as I began to cut the turkey. I gave us each some and after I fixed my vegetables, I decided to call it a day.

I took my plate and then sat down on the living room floor by a coffee table. Shawn came out soon later, sitting beside me but on the couch. "So, what are we watching?" He asked and I played it as he took a drink of his soda.

He checked the title and then nodded. "I've never seen this." He told me and I agreed, taking my fork and eating a little bit just to try it.

"It came out really good." I told Shawn and he nodded, his mouth full already.

"Mhm."

I laughed and I gave him a napkin. "Oh my god Shawn," I said and he shrugged as he chewed his food, swallowing after. "Did you even taste it?"
