It was a completely normal day. Asriel was happily playing on her school playground, her two best friends, Lennia and Sapphire, right there with her. They were playing soccer, one of their favorite sports to play. None of them were on sports teams, though. They were the types to like some sportsy games, but they'd rather not have to do it as a 'job'.
Asriel had dark chocolate brown hair, deep ocean blue eyes, skin that was in between tan and pale. Lennia had raven black hair, shiny emerald green eyes, and skin that was more on the pale side. Sapphire had golden blonde hair, chocolate brown eyes, and skin that was more on the tan side. Asriel was more of a mixed personality. One day she would be over excited about everything. Then the next, she would be super calm, laid back, and tired. Don't think that's bad though! Asriel is a sweet, loving girl. A huge daydreamer. Lennia was a complete tomboy. She was always laid back and calm, and loved to just sit and go along with her friends. Sapphire was a huge bundle of energy, never let anything get her down. She was sooo innocent. Loved life, and loved love. Just a big teddy bear, if need be.
There was no one around when it happened. Asriel was sitting next to a flower garden near the playground. She saw a wilting flower. Asriel felt bad, and went to pick the flower to take home. Before she could pick it up, however, her hands started glowing. After a bit of sparkling, she saw the flower was completely healthy again. This severely confused her. Was she seeing things? Should she ask anyone about it? Should she even mention it to anyone? She decided the best answer to that last question was no. She needed to figure this out on her own.
When she went home that day, her older sister, Scarlet, was sitting on the couch watching tv. "Yo, Rei! What's up? How was school?" Scarlet asked.
"Normal," Asriel replies. "I'm gonna go do my homework... do you mind if Lennia and Sapphire come over tomorrow to work on a project for school?"
"I'll have to ask your brother, but I honestly don't think he'll care. Those two are practically a part of the family!" Scarlet replies.
Her parents had died when she was 5, and no immediate relatives were nearby. None of them really wanted to take care of three extra children, anyway. Scarlet and Luke (Asriel's older brother) had part time jobs that traded shifts. As soon as Luke got home, Scarlet had to leave. They did this to make sure there was always someone home for Asriel. They were caring siblings. Not cruel or rude. Not mean or horrible. But kind and friendly. Loving and perfect in their own special way. Asriel would later find herself at a tough decision that would have to deal with those two.
Will she leave them behind...?
