Asriel slowly stood up. This really hurt her heart. The city was in ruins. She had no clue why. There was nothing wrong when she was there before, was there? She wasn't sure about anything right now. "Alaya, how in the world do you think this happened? I swear there was nothing suspicious before I left!" Asriel asked under her breath. Alaya could still hear her.
"I'm not sure, Asriel. It's so weird. Maybe there was just something you didn't notice? After all, there have been a lot of shadows recently," Alaya offers.
"Maybe..." Asriel ponders the idea of a shadow. "Wait. One shadow couldn't do this on it's own. This big of a place would take thousands o them!"
Alaya seems to get the realization at the same time, "Yeah, you're right. But even thousands of them couldn't do this. not with us checking on it so much for the first 2 and a half years. Half of a year wouldn't have been long enough to do this."
"That was the last thing I wanted to hear," Asriel stares at Alaya with a 'screw your logic' look. "So... What do you think could have done something like this in this amount of time?"
"Who knows? Your guess, at this point, is probably just about as good as mine," Alaya replies glumly.
"Well, that's just swell. And you're the smart one when it comes to this stuff," Asriel seems to be losing hope.
"Come on, we can't figure it out by just standing hear, now, can we?" Alaya pulls Asriel up with a smile.
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Asriel attempts to offer a smile of her own, but it comes off as forced and sad.
"Come on, Rei. Let's get going," Alaya started pulling her friend through the entrance to the town.
One of the things the two didn't know? They were being followed, and with them... that was NEVER a good thing if they didn't know.
Alaya was only just starting to get paranoid about being watched, but kept it silent to try to keep Asriel up and going. Soon enough, they were in Asriel's old neighborhood.
"Can we not be here, please?" Asriel began to beg. She really didn't want to be where she grew up when it's in shambles and ashes.
Poor girl... Alaya thought to herself as she tightly hugged Asriel, letting go quickly. "Yeah, I'll come back here later."
"Thanks, Laya," Asriel said with a sad smile.
Right off of the road nearby, there was a girl with raven black hair and brown(?) eyes. She had pale skin and seemed conused and honestly sad at the same time. She did just see her old best friend with some other girl after all. That's right. Lennia had been trailing Asriel and Alaya since they entered town. She had to know if Asriel was alright, and thankfully she was. Lennia wanted to jump out and hug her, to yell at her for leaving her friends and family behind for so long. She was happy. She was sad. She was angry. She was almost every emotion. Lennia couldn't do anything. She knew Asriel probably hated her after the events of three years ago. Asriel had never came back, after all. Even if she was mad at Lennia, was that really a reason to disappear off the face of the Earth? She didn't think so. Lennia was sure Asriel should have at least went and told her older siblings she was leaving- it was dangerous out there. Lennia knew by now that Asriel never truly minded the dangers of the world. As long as they weren't stupid enough to get between her and her life. That was another thing Lennia loved about her friend: she wasn't afraid of much. If you scared her, you NEED to write that down as the scariest thing that could ever happen. One of the scariest moments in Lennia's life was when the threat started coming from the 'anonymous' sources somewhere. It scred the entire town, and the worst of all? Asriel wasn't there to try and cal Lennia down. She ws gone. Or, at least, that was what everyone had thought- including Lennia and Sapphire...
..
...
....
Until now.
Now, Lennia could see with her very own eyes that Asriel was alive and well. Actually, she wsn't quite sure about the latter. She semed really upset and, honestly, a little depressed. Before the beginning o the 'Magic Era' - as Lennia and Sapphir had dubbed it- Asriel was completely happy and always there to cheer others up. Lennia smiles sadly at the sweet memories sweeping through her mind. She knew now was not the time to be lost in thoughts, but she would rather be there instead of in reality. In her thoughts, she could rid the world of its sadness. She could make Asriel happy again. She could make it to where none of this craziness ever took place. Right now, she was unsure of if Asriel and her new friend knew she was there. She was barely hiding by a fence that somehow managed to survive the attack. Now that she looked around again, the first description of the place was 'nuclear wasteland'. It didn't surprise her. All she wanted was for her friend to notice they were being watched and followed. .. .. .. .. .. Her wishes didn't come true right then. The duo walked off somewhere else. Lennia almost lost them.
Later on, Asriel noticed they were being followed. Lennia brought her hood up to hide her identity. She had an idea to prove to her close friends Asriel was alive, and explain to Asriel and her friend what happened while she was gone. "Who's there?" Asriel called out quietly, not really expecting an answer.
...
No response.
Lennia steps out towards them, and walks right passed them. As she had hoped, the two began to trail her. She led them to one of the still standing buildings where she had been staying with a couple of friends. She was prepared to ask many questions, get many questions, give answers, and be given many answers. The girls began to hesitate afteer noticing the hooded figure was heading into a building, but decided to risk it. They followed Lennia inside, thinking they had trapped her. "You're trapped inside, take down your hood and show us who you are," Asriel commanded.
"Certainly," Lennia replies, calmly taking her hood down. "Anythig for an old friend, right?"
Ohhhhh..... Long chapter to make up for break went up to 1087 words... Wow. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and YES. This was cut off to make it seem cool (And buy me extra time to think of the story I want to go with). As of right now, story development may be a bit slow due to me actually thinking before I start writing. Not that I'll really plan the chapter much, just the basic ideas. My writing style is: Plan what's happening immediately next as I'm writing and never plan for anything before it comes out (unless I say I planned it, that's different). I've writen enough, for now. I write to you all later. Also! My 'Updates' book might end up having a few stories of my life, UNLESS I start a sort of diary for when something happens. Bye, My Sweettarts! (Hopefully there's no spelling or grammar mistakes, It's late, and I do NOT have time to go through and try to fix little details. If it seriously needs edited (which normally doesn't happen) please either comment or PM me.)
